“Okay stay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 1, 2012

I agree with the other reviews that I can't believe this is a BWestern Plus property. We stayed for one night since we wanted to visit Arches National Park. We arrived at check-in time and our room wasn't ready, we had to wait 1/2 hour and then our room still wasn't ready so we left for Arches. The room is okay, the A/C unit is loud, our toilet got clogged and we had to call maintenance. There is no breakfast offered so we went to the Pancake House to eat. Beware of the Chinese buffet restaurant next door, the food is so-so and they automatically added on the 18% tip when we only had a party of four.

We stayed here on a family vacation to visit Arches Nathional Park. We checked in and went directly to our room. It was an outside entrance and the door to our room was not working properly. The stairway was not well lit and felt a bit scary. The room decor was dark and dingy, felt like an old motel. There was no breakfast offered on the property. They had charged us over $200 per night, way overpriced! Immediatley we went to the front desk and asked for a refund. We were told they could not do that because we had signed a paper when we arrived that said we could not get a refund once we checked in. We asked to speak with the manager but was told no manager was on sight. We asked to speak with the manager by phone but was refused. I called Best Western customer service but was told each motel was independently owned and operated and could make their own rules. Obviously neither the hotel nor Best Western was interested in customer satisfaction. Do yourself a favor and stay in the other Best Western in Moab or the Hampton Inn in Moab (which is where we ended up staying).

Room Tip: These room have outside corridors which are old and not well lit.

Do not know why this would be considered a Plus BW. It's a typical, average, older facility. It is reasonably clean, and reasonably well maintained. My room had an incredibly noisy air conditioner and I could not get to sleep.... and it takes a lot to keep me awake. I transferred to the other BW across the street even though it was more expensive. If price is your main criteria then it is acceptable.

We stayed three nights visiting Arches Nat.Park and Canyonlands Nat.Park. Hotel is very quiet and swimming pool is nicely heated and rooms are clean. Staff at reception not very smiling and unfortunately no breakfast offered.

This is a roadside motel, nothing better. I do not understand why it is a plus-level Best Western. It was terribly overpriced for what it offered, and for what they charged there should have been breakfast included, but there wasn't.
The first room they gave us had dirty sheets with hair all over them. The second room they gave us smelled of sewage.
I definitely was disappointed for having spent so much for such a bad stay.

There is no alternative if you wonna visit Canyonlands and Arches NP. On the end it depends what hotel has enough space.

Chinese/ Japanese Buffet Restaurant on the same ground, serving breakfast too.

Dont book the breakfast option, because you will get a voucher for the pancake house a cross the street, just for srambled eggs, bacon, toast and coffee. If you pay direct, you have more options in town and in the pancake house.

Restaurants nearby - Moab is not so great, that can miss one

We have stayed at BW Canyonlands Inn in Moab on two earlier occasions but decided to try the Greenwell Inn this time. The welcome was fine and the room was ok with two comfortable queen beds. Compared to the Canyonlands Inn I can't understand that the Greenwell Inn is also a BW Plus. It is older and not very cozy. They don't offer breakfast (according to the BW website a BW Plus hotel should include breakfast) but they give you a coupon for $ 5 discount if you choose to have breakfast at the Pancake Haus across the street. That to me is crap. When I pay so much for an average room ($169 per night) I at least expect a decent breakfast to be included. We didn't go to the Pancake Haus but had our breakfast at the diner next door instaed. There is no doubt that our next visit in Moab will be on the Canyonlands Inn - it is slightly more expensive but much much better.
