“Fantastic”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 30, 2013

We drove in on this road with snow coming down, which was lovely and cold. It's true that you have to get out of your car and walk a bit to really see the fantastic geography (but it's good for you). We hiked the Elephant Hill - Chesler Park Trail with lots of up and down on slickrock--quite challenging but doable and amazing formations all around. Then driving back out, the sun was beginning to set and the scenery just lit up. Enormous red rock mesas on either side. Stunning!

“Long way but”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 7, 2013

About 40 miles or so but worth the drive. Once inside Canyonlands beware the off-road section to Elephant Hill - good but needs some serious concentration!

“Must See!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 14, 2013

This is a fantastic way to spend a day. The rock spires and arches are plentiful and every mile is filled with adventure and scenery. Especially worthwhile is Newspaper rock with the petroglyphs. It is humbling to see something where ancient man communicated in a unique, effective way.

“Beware of deer”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 23, 2012

The road to Needles is diverse and beautiful with open fields, forests, petroglyphs, canyon walls and great formations. The colors are superb. We return often to the park. The mule deer that bounded into the side of my car upon leaving the park at dusk will always be a sore memory, especially for him. Evening brings out the wildlife, another great feature, but one that deserves great respect.

“Total bummer”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed December 21, 2012

This road just gives you a view of Needles, at the Visitor's Center, from like ten miles out. It was miserable. The road circle tour is not great. Big disappointment.
