“Negro Bill Canyon And Morning Glory Arch”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 11, 2012

After we finished the Fisher Towers hike we went to Negro Bill Canyon and Morning Glory Arch. I had considered that hike when planning but decided it probably wouldn’t be worth the distance/effort. While we were ballooning, I got to talking to a 30 something young lady who was a local mountain bike guide and asked her for suggestions for things to do. She said Negro Bill Canyon was her favorite hike so we gave it a shot & we were very glad we did. We hiked for 5 miles on this one. This was one instance where the trail was nicer than the destination. This was another trail that followed a stream. Wow, two of them in Utah, who knew:>) We had to keep crossing over the stream, a total of nine rock hops and one log walk. When we got to the arch, which was a nice big one, we found it was kind of hard to distinguish it from the huge rock wall behind it since there wasn’t a lot of distance between the arch and the cliff. Of course this made it very hard to try to get a decent photograph. This was compounded by the fact the canyon had narrowed down some at the end and you really need a wide angle lens at this point. Left mine in KY.

Oct 13-17. Absolutely beautiful colors, babbling brook, wildflowers in bloom. Very enjoyable hike. Check out the reflections in the river on the way here in the am. Photo stop here.

“Good side trail”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 24, 2012

Trailhead is off the road that follows the river. Kind of tucked away, usually not crowded at all. recommend leaving early in the day or late in the day, can be very little shade during the day for a moderate hike. One of my favorite trails not inside arches and very accessible. Might not be the best for small children, 8 or 9 year olds should be ok

“Fun Hike”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 15, 2012

This was our most enjoyable hike at Moab. Not crowded like the National Parks. Stunning natural bridge at the end of the trail.....we saw people rappelling down there. Took their photo and e-mailed pics of them coming down to them which they appreciated. This is a good hike on sunny days because the canyon bottom trail is shaded a lot. Not too steep, it is an easy trail, but very scenic. One of the few trails with water along the way.

“Cool, easy trail”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 15, 2012

This trail if pretty flat and runs next to a creek. Very pleasant on a hot day as there are trees along the creek that provide some shade.
