Nothing to criticise here - everything is perfect.
Special kudos to Alissa - if there was an Olympics event for receptionists, she would win gold every time.
If you are in Moab, there is no point in looking anywhere else.

We spent 3 days here during peak season in September. When we arrived, we were disappointed that the GPS took us not to a hotel in town but through the town and about a mile north. We realized later however, that our location was perfect as we were closer to both Arches (really close) and Canyonlands (further north) - both early morning destinations. Our room was very large. The beds were comfortable. Everything appeared brand new. The outdoor pool was one of the nicer ones we've seen. The fake and flaming stone arch surrounding the end of the pool was a bit hokey, but still nice. There were two hot tubs - a small one in the sun (which we used on the first day) and a larger one that was covered (that we used the next 2 days). A nice touch having a choice of sun or shade or potentially alone or with strangers. There was also a nice stone fire table with a simple on-off switch. Breakfast was in a large room and extremely efficient. There was a busload of French tourist who walked in to breakfast probably 15 minutes before us, but we had no trouble getting our own table and the food was replenished quickly so all choices were available.

Our initial negative was the location - not downtown, but we had no issue driving to downtown and parking for free on the street on either of our 3 nights. The only complaint would be that there aren't a lot of GOOD restaurants to choose from in Moab, but you can't blame that on the Holiday Inn!

Lovely clean, modern hotel both inside and out. Spacious clean rooms, friendly, courteous, helpful staff. Arches National park virtually on doorstep. Another wonderful drive is La Sal Mountains or La Sal Range, from start to finish - the views are astounding. Another beautiful, leisurely drive is the Potash Drive which follows the Colorado River, and gives fantastic views of rock formations and Petroglyphs. Shopping in Moab is a real treat, all goods are of excellent quality with a price to suit all pockets....my fav is The Kokopelli Gallery, fantastic range of gifts (could spend a fortune in there alone.) Moab is a wonderfully, peaceful town with a beautiful, warm aura about it (to me anyway.) The only negative about the hotel is that fridges were only provided if staying in a suite however the use of the hotel fridge was offered if needed to store meds. All in all apart from no fridge I'd thoroughly recommend this hotel.

We have always stayed at the Hampton in Moab, but the Holiday Inn Express was a little cheaper and maybe newer. It is on the north side of town, close to the Colorado River. Our double queen room faced the highway but noise was not a problem. Thankfully, it was cool enough that we could leave the window open all night (there is no thermostat in the room, just the window unit). Breakfast was nothing special; we ate at the Love Muffin, where we had a good breakfast burrito.

Room Tip: We stayed on the third floor at the end of the corridor to ensure peace and quiet.

This was a long planned bucket-list trip to the national parks that was interrupted by the government shutdown. Thank you Congress! Thank goodness for the NV, UT, CO, AZ state parks and Native American tourist sites. The HEI in Moab is located just as you cross the Colorado River on Rt. 191. It is one of the newer hotels in the area and is convenient to Mesa Verde (which we could not visit) and Canyon Lands National Parks (ditto). The room was standard size with a small bathroom. The sink area was in an alcove with a small counter. The toilet and tub were behind it was also small. On a positive note, the staff was very friendly and provided a lot of useful information about the area. In sum - very clean and friendly – if somewhat tight in accommodations.

Moab is a great location for visiting the 2 National Parks close buy and there a not many hotels to pick from. (The town was sold out when we visited.) You can't beat this hotel if all you need is a good night's sleep and nice breakfast (free). I often stay in Holiday Inns on business and this is one of their better ones. It's at the north end of town, so you can avoid driving the 20 minutes it takes to go thru town to get to Arches or Canyon-lands (Island in the Sun) in the morning. We were up and out at 0600 to see the sunrises as the parks.

Fantastic. Newly renovated. Perfect location on the outskirts of the town (quiet at night) between Arches and the town. Hotel quality room and facilities. Also Moab as a town is completely geared up as a tourist town for those going to the National Parks so there are lots of restaurants, bars and amenities. Very helpful receptionist, gave us recommendations for evening meals. We had a good night sleep and left refreshed and ready for the day ahead.
