“Wondrous Colors”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 2, 2013

During our four day stay in Moab, we drove this mountain loop. The colors of the foliage in early October was unbelievably beautiful. Orange, yellow, purple everywhere you looked. Take the time to drive this loop, especially in the fall.

“An Unexpected Delight”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 27, 2013

This road is worth the time you'd spend on it. It's paved with a few tough spots, but the views are fantastic and the groves of aspen spectacular. There are several campgrounds for tent campers that offer cool days and probably cold nights (We didn't camp.). The completed dissimilarity to the terrain below is a joy in itself. Don't miss it if you have a few hours and have tired of the crowds at Arches.

“What a drive!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 23, 2013

We took the La Sal Mountain Loop from the North off Route 128. The scenery was stunning in it's beauty. The road up the mountain after Castle Valley was a little dicey at first, but we thoroughly enjoyed it. The Loop was one of the hi lights of our trip to Moab, Utah. We would not have wanted to miss it!

“Half Scenic”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 22, 2013

My wife had read about this loop and wanted to do it...so we went-not sure about directions, but know this: if you want to do it and get up high, start out on 128 and drive along the Colorado river before starting up--then go as high as you want and turn around and come back down the same way...About half of this "loop" is not particularly scenic, nor is it easy driving.....lots of twists and turns, but you're not getting much bang for the effort. When at dinner my wife mentioned to one of our waitresses that we had taken the loop road, she just burst out laughing...not to say some parts are not scenic...and there was no color when we were there in early September, so maybe it gets better with fall color...but for summer travelers and through mid-september, in my opinion you're better off going up and off 128 rather that the other end of the loop.
