“This route gives you a close up of the River”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 15, 2013

This is the same scenery you would see if you took a jetboat trip plus you can control the timing and length of stay at the various turnouts. We did a little hiking in the early morning, but the sun "sears" your skin as the day progresses.

“Oh Yeah”

Great day trip with plenty of great views of Moab and all of the surrounding area. Lots of picture taking oppotunities on this route!

“Close to town, lots to see!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 14, 2013

This road is just north of the Colorado River Bridge just outside Moab. On Potash Rd is the trailhead for Corona Arch, dinosaur prints and Native American writing on the canyon walls, the entire road travels next to the Colorado River. In the evening you can sometimes see people repelling or climbing the canyon walls. No charge to park and watch! We came across 4-wheelers coming off Schaeffer Canyon Road or Long Canyon Road. Quite a bit to see on this about 16 mile road. Well worth the drive!

“Good trip, but not a highlight”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 10, 2013

Having previously taken route 128 up the Colorado River, we found the Potash Road a bit of a downer. We did however see several rock climbers climbing up the sheer cliffs along the highway. A midday sun washes out the colors. The road peters out at the Potash mine.

“Climb and see rock art”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 5, 2013

You always see rock climbers on this road. The road takes you to Corona Arch and some dinosaur footprints. The rock art is on the side of the road and is well signed.
