“Enjoyable Stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 25, 2014

We stayed in the Ranch House at Pack Creek Ranch over Easter weekend 2014. Our stay was great and we will return in the future!

The Ranch house has three bedrooms, two with two queens and one with a king. The bedding was clean and the bed was comfortable. There are also two twins in the dining room, odd placing, but I guess they want to use the space to house as many guests as they can. We did not sleep comfortably the first night because the house was freezing. It was truly our own fault because we were unaware that we had to turn the thermostat up. I work at a hotel and we perform a check-in checklist for every arrival into the hotel. When we do that we turn the thermostat up or down depending on the season so the guests are comfortable upon arrival. Once that was figured out, we slept great the last two nights.

We were very pleased with the kitchen. The kitchen has more than enough silverware and all of the cookware you could possibly need. We loved the fact that we were able to prepare each days meal in advance and dinner at night. The dining room has a large table and we took advantage of that space each day.

The views from the Pack Creek Ranch are outstanding. The grounds were very well taken care of and we enjoyed seeing the horses and goats on the property.

The hot tub is located only a number of steps from the home and was cleaned daily by a maintenance person. We were disappointed that the swimming pool was not open, but the sauna made up for that.

The lack of television suited us fine. We were happy to have internet and good cell service though.

My only complaint is that there really is only one shower. There is a large bathroom space that housed a bathtub, toilet and sink. With five of us in the house, it would have been nice to have an extra shower. None of us took advantage of taking a bath while we were there as we got ready and out of the house early each morning. We did like the fact that there were three separate toilets. There were plenty of towels and extra bedding in each room.

This place was great and we are already looking at dates in September so that we can take my girls. The price is right for the amount of space you get and the drive is worth it!

We had such a great weekend staying in the ranch house this past weekend. There were 8 of us 3 couples and two other friends. There was plenty of room and bathroom space. The house had everything we needed and more. Lots of parking and easy to find. We were close to the hot tub and sanua which was great after a day of hiking and biking. We were all happy to be out of the crazyness of town but still only 15min incase we needed something from the market. Great road biking and hiking from the house. It was nice to be abel to enjoy everything that Moab has to offer and feel like you were going home after long day. Being able to cook all our meals and just chill out after dinner with friends without having to worry about driving was perfect. Thank you and we will be back next spring if not sooner!

I have mixed feelings about reviewing Pack Creek because I want to keep this treasure to myself. First off, the "ranch" is comprised of about half a dozen or so privately owned cabins of various sizes. Each one is is unique and varies as far as amenities and decor is concerned. My husband and I stayed at the Gate House. This was a cabin built in the 1940's and extensively renovated. It is hands down the most amazing cabin I have ever stayed at. Original stone fireplace and stone walls in the living room and bedroom, kitchen with Viking professional appliances and granite countertops, repurposed antique interior doors, tiled shower with two showerheads, comfy king bed, mud room and cabinets stocked with almost every thing you could need, whimsical decorator touches, and a breathtaking view of the Manti La Sal Mountains from the back door and windows. It was perfection for couples and very difficult to leave. We arrived on a Monday and left Saturday and literally never saw anyone. Our key was left in a box by the office. Everything was in perfect working order and very clean, which was a good thing as no property manager was was around to offer any help (but we weren't really around much during the day either). As far as getting there, you need to keep an eye out for the mileposts off Route 191, but as the crow flies, it's not that far from the road. However, you hear absolutely no traffic and the area is very secluded. We brought all our food supplies with us and dined in every night. There is a large supermarket in Moab if you need to stock up, which is about maybe 20 minutes away. We used the cabin as our base for exploring the Canyonlands and Arches National Parks. So nice after hiking all day to return this wonderful place. We even made friends with the goats who came to visit at the fence in back. It's probably busier in the summer, but then you can enjoy sitting out and watching the stars on either on the back or side patios. I truly can't think of anything negative to stay, except we had to use the small wood burning stove in the fireplace because either the actual fireplace isn't operable or the owners just didn't want guests using it. The cabin was heated so having a fire is not a necessity, just relaxing after a long day. To summarize, I can't comment on the other cabins, but if you're looking for an upscale rustic experience, you will love the Gate House at Pack Creek!

Stayed here 25 years ago and loved it. The ownership has changed since then. I think to individually owned cabins owned as sort of time shares/condos. While the overall premises are wonderful, it is too "rustic" for vacationers used to staying in a hotel. A step up from camping. The web site states all lodgings have air conditioning. We stayed in cabin M4.Nice ranch house with a loft. Their version of AC was an open window and oscillating fans. We hit two rainy days with temps mid 70s. If it had been 90-95 as predicted, we would have had to find a motel room in Moab. The ranch is difficult to find. The realtor's directions/map are almost worthless.

My family stayed at Meadow House for two nights in August 2013. First off, this is rather far from Moab and not so easy to find. It initially took an hour to find after leaving Moab (much to our confusion), but once we knew the best route it still took a good 20 minutes to reach town. It is definitely off the beaten path!
The house was quite nice and spacious (actually rather large). Clean and comfortable beds and rooms. The kitchen was well equipped, but unfortunately due to our activities, we did not take advantage of it. We did not see much wildlife, other than the goats in the back yard. The kids loved the loft in the house, although because there is no A/C it was very hot the first night. Due to all of the activities we had planned in the Moab area, we did not utilize the house and property as much as we would if we just used Pack Creek as out main activity. You must really spend time here to get the full enjoyment and use of the ranch.
We did not use the grill or outside patio since there was construction taking place. Something that we did not expect one day when returned around noon - hammering and banging on the roof which was being replaced. However a call to the management took care of the issue after about an hour. While the ranch is a great, relaxing place to stay, it is really not ideally located if you are doing many activities in Moab or the parks.

Spent 3 nights at the "Ranch" and we couldn't have been more pleased. The drive to Moab is more in the neighborhood of 20 minutes but the accomondations were excellent. The cabin was clean, ample towels for our visit, the grounds were well maintained. A/C was more than adequate. Hot water was ample for showers. Had a quaint feel to it as you opened drawers and doors to a credenza that was filled with cards and board games. Art work on the wall was a nice touch as was the access to a gas grill, full kitchen with refrig/freezer and dish washer.

Room Tip: Our cabin was the closest to the road but because of the location of the Ranch this was not an issue...

We spent time here on a family reunion (M4 property) and loved Pack Creek Ranch. Yes it is a few miles from Moab but having open space between the properties was great for us. Fun pool (although odd shape that took some getting used to). Kids loved feeding the horses and goats. Our property had a full kitchen including spices, etc.to help with the cooking. Would love to be back again.
