“lovely hosts and great location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2012

We stayed here on our lark after finding many other places fully booked, and were glad for that turn of events. This place is hosted by two lovely folks who immediately set us at ease, offering tea and cookies and chatting with us when we checked in. Our room was clean and modern (only non-modern part was a tiny little 12" box TV, but it was fine -- though even small flat-screens would be nicer) and the location was great. We walked a few blocks down to the historical part of town along Washington one evening, and over to the AT trail and Jefferson Rock the next morning. Hosts were kind enough to offer maps and guidance to find the restaurant where we had dinner reservations. B'fast was good and hearty. We would definitely return again!

“Warm and friendly place to rest”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 23, 2012

We took off for Harpers Ferry as we are visiting historic places during our stay on the East Coast. The weekend was a windy and cold one, but the Guest House at Harpers Ferry provided a warm and welcoming safe haven for us. Our room was huge and well stocked with books on the Civil War and mysteries. Breakfast was served with lots of conversation about the area and what to see. Harpers Ferry is an amazing beautiful place. The Appalachian Trail Conservancy is across the street and a good place to start if you are hiking in the area.

Just across the street from the AT office in a quiet, safe neighborhood. Al and Alison were friendly and accommodating. Very comfortable beds and clean rooms. Tasty breakfast nicely presented!

“Great place for walkers”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 4, 2011

Lovely property with a great breakfast, good location and they are really helpful and friendly people.
We were from the UK and were doing a section hike of the AT from HF to the end of the Shenandoah Park. As we were from the UK we couldn’t bring any supplies into the USA and so they went out of their way to help us kit ourselves out in the short time we were there.
Harpers Ferry is a nice town, small enough to walk around, not far from Washington and with easy access by train (MAC and Amtrack). Its got a bit of history (only a bit as Im from the UK and we have a lot) and so makes a nice day or two stop.

“It's work staying there even if you have no other reason to be at Harper's Ferry.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 6, 2011

My husband did a little research on the B&Bs in Harper's Ferry. We agreed that we were so lucky to have chosen the right one! Not only have they thought of everything that a traveler might need, including any amenity, but between their amazing hospitality and the spacious comfortable, and quiet, peaceful rooms, the stay was better than we could have hoped with. We looked forward to getting back to the room after the various activities we did all day in the area. It allowed us to do just what we needed--to recharge our batteries over a nice weekend. It's worth staying with Al and Alison even if you have no other reason to be at Harper's Ferry.
