The Seagull Bay Motel has "Motel 6" furnishings with "Four Season" views.
I've stayed at the Seagull before and know that the rooms are going to be very basic but they've become a bit more worn. The best thing the motel could do to quickly to make things a bit better would be to replace all of their towels (most of which are almost threadbare) and to take a look over their sheets - my fitted sheet - although clean, had several small holes. Nice amenities are still the in-room coffee maker, fridge and microwave - especially if you are biking, kayaking or boating and want to keep the fixings for picnics close at hand. New this year - wireless internet! Although with a nod to those of us who just want to relax, the motel still doesn't have in-room phones!
But it's really the views that are the scene stealer. Bring a book, fix yourself your favorite beverage and sit outside to watch the sun rise and enjoy views of the lake. The motel is also right off a popular walking trail which takes you right into downtown Bayfield. The motel doesn't offer breakfast but there are a couple of b'fast options in Bayfield and down the road.
The Seagull is a bit worn around the edges but is a comfortable place to stay for a long weekend at an affordable price - rates range from $70-90 for the majority of rooms. And if it's the lake views you've come for, you can't beat this place!
