“Nice walk”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 5, 2013

When you walk this area you get a since of the futality of the federals' efforts in this battle. The Rebs had the high gound, the sheltered areas, & the woods for cover. Grounds are well mainted & well marked.

“See history”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 27, 2013

Having read about this bridge and the battle I wanted to see it. I am glad I did. You can look down on the bridge from the parking lot or you can take a trail down to the bridge.

“Historic bridge”

It was very interesting to visit Burnside Bridge. It was such a peaceful and tranquil spot it was hard to think of the carnage of the day.

Informative and provided excellent perspective of the size and difficultly of the battlefied. We started at the confederate position and then walked the union advance.

“Very sad place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 17, 2013

There are very good information boards here at both sides of the bridge, make sure you visit both sides and you can understand the strength of the southern defences and the open ground the north kept crossing to try and dislodge the south.

no wonder so many casualties occurred here.

visit it as part of the battlefield tour.
