“High quality fish, high quality service.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2012

This is my go-to for sushi. Jimi provides excellent bar service, so be sure to ask for "omakase" (Japanese for "I'll leave it to you.") It jumps the bill up a bit but you get an experience, not just a meal.

Be sure to try the salmon roe as they prepare it in-house.

The atmosphere is comfortable and accessing the restaurant is simple since its at a great location on 9th, right on the N-Judah line.

Pro-Tip: They always have creative specials and as an appetizer, their garlic edamame is delicious.

“SOME of the best freshest sushi and family owned”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 16, 2011

Moved to the Inner sunset 9 years ago and found the diamond in the rough..... A long time people kept saying that Ebisu was the best, which it is really good and is the hub of everything and just had their remodel... BUT.... now I went once with my husband and have been eating there for over 9 years now. We always take everyone there no matter how big the group. Very kid friendly too! The owners are so generous and they put their kids through school and college through this place. Even let you bring in a HUGE sake bottle for a birthday party with a small cork fee if at all..... Be prewarned. Jimisan make's his own soundtracks for the music so you never know what you will get that night... it's always a good conversation starter! My favorite items are the super white tuna, the abrudai (HOOKED!), raw scallop, catterpillar roll, banana brulee (yes I said bananas and it's delicious!), seriously every dish is amazing. Jimi is a talented man. Great staff too including his wife. Ever since we had our sister and brother move here they have been heading there too and bring their friends... great prices too.
