“Good service, great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 15, 2012

I was assigned the Hotel Triton through a recent conference organizer who had booked our rooms. I felt lucky to have had this experience of staying at the Triton - you need to have at least one experience in this Hotel. As I did not spend a lot of time in the room because of attending the conference and all the other things to do in SF. I might have asked for a different room -- I was on the inside and would have preferred more light from a street side room. But all in all I was pleased with my stay and would recommend the Hotel Triton to friends. I LOVED the neighborhood restaurants and shopping. The staff was excellent and helpful. I was able to check in early on my arrival which I appreciated.

Room Tip: As for higher floor and a street side room with a view.

I stayed here with girlfriends in October 2012 and we had a fantastic time! The location is unbeatable-- we loved staying in Union Square, and it's only blocks to walk to the Montgomery BART station.

The decor of the rooms was great fun, and the service was impeccable. We were celebrating a girlfriend's birthday, and were greeted with a bottle of champagne and sweet treats waiting for us in the room. The suite we booked had a lovely sitting area with plenty of seating for cocktail hour. The room we booked with two double beds was a bit tight on space, but still fun and pleasant.

Loved the wine tasting in the evening, too, and echo others' delight at a delicious breakfast next door. Had a lovely time and would definitely stay again.

I sent an email to the concierge after booking and he made recommendations for restaurants and had a wonderful surprise of complimentary wine and snacks as well as a signed birthday card for my spouse on our arrival. This made our start to our SF holiday very special. We had a corner room withe two breathtaking views of the city (including the gates to Chinatown). Joe made sure a rental car was delivered to the hotel for the second part of our trip and we always felt very welcome by the staff. We signed up early for the Kimpton rewards and received our chosen newspaper each day, free wi-fi and a $10 "raid the bar" coupon. It was a great place to start and finish each day and it must be one of the most unique hotels in the city -- definitely not a cookie-cutter corporate hotel experience.

Room Tip: Corner rooms give two exciting views of SF

I love this hotel! A very unique look but the service is the best you can find. Rooms on the street are slightly noisy though, but I guess it's a small price to pay for such a genuine and well located hotel.

We stayed at the Hotel Triton for our summer stay in San Fran. We arrived just in time for a wine reception. Worth the valet parking. Fantastic location nesxt to chinatown and close to great shopping. The rooms are quirky and super fun. The bath tub was a nice giant soaker tub as well.
Will be staying here again for sure.

We stayed here on the second part of our trip to California, wonderful hotel, great staff and all in all a great experince. Room was lovely, we were there as for our wedding anniversary and they give us a card signed by all the staff and lovely bottle of wine. The hotel is near china town and also great for shopping, went on trolley cars, alcatraz, city tour all very good. Would recommend this hotel to everyone, just so nice to find a good hotel with nice rooms and really really nice staff, thanks for a lovely time. Make sure you book alcztraz before you go it really is booked out and dont forget ur fleece because san francisco can get a wee bit chilly.

Room Tip: ask for suite its lovely !

It's a modern hotel located at the entry to Chinatown. We have been San Francisco many times, but have never spent so much time in Chinatown. We really enjoyed the different types of food ad getting to know the different types of food. We walked down to the Wharf, even though is was a good hike for us old folks. We really enjoyed the different neighborhoods and the different ethnic feels. From Chinatown to Northbeach with all the great Italian food to the Wharf with all the fresh seafood. People along the way were bright and full of cheer, there may have been some alcohol involved.
Next to the hotel there is a great little french cafe with great daily specials and wonderful wine. We especially enjoyed the wine tasting each day at the hotel. The wine flowed with good flavor and good fun had by all. The hotel was pet friendly and it was neat to have our four legged friends joining us for a trip to San Fran. We really enjoyed the eclectic atmosphere that surrounded us in this cute hotel.
We would highly suggest you give this hotel a try. Fun and San Francisco flavor for all.

Hi Milks77 ~ thanks for the awesome review. We can't agree more! Our neighborhood is perfect for experiencing some of the best San Francisco has to offer. I'm sure the alcohol doesn't hurt either :).

We hope to see you back soon.
Till then,
