“Adequate”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 26, 2013

Overall good location with comfortable rooms. We stayed on the 4 th floor in a corner room over looking road but with a view to the hills. It's a No frills, very noisy room with cramped toilet and noisy A/C heater. Good concierge team. Check in team not so polite. Free wifi in lobby so did a lot of hanging out there and outside near fire pits. It's right across the road from Safeway.

We are happy to hear that you found the rooms comfortable in an ideal location in the beautiful downtown Fisherman’s Wharf area. I am truly sorry to hear that we did not surpass your expectations with the noise that affected your stay. Please feel free to contact us directly so that we can ensure you are booked for an interior facing room should you need accomodations in the future.

The hotel itself was nice, the service was good. However, the room was very cramped (banged my foot getting out of bed because the heater/radiator was an only a few inches from the bed!) It was also very noisy. It seemed like the walls, ceiling and windows let in every little sound! It is an older hotel, though. All in all, ok but not great.

Room Tip: Possibly the main building (where the reception is) is better, but I really don't know...

We strive to provide exceptional customer service. The hotel was fully renovated a few years ago though, were left with the original structure and size to work from. We do offer a variety of upper floor and interior courtyard view rooms away from any possible street noises that are ideal for light sleepers and should you be returning to our area.

Our family of four enjoyed our stay for 3 nights here. We were fresh off the plane from Melbourne via LA and were very tired, but were also able to walk everywhere we wanted to. Close to Pier 39 and all the attractions that come with that. The room was neat and quite. Staff were friendly, but not over informative. Lots of great little restaurants near by and a safeway across the road.

Room Tip: Try to get a room that overlooks the pools or outdoor fire pits.

Thank you for taking the time to share about your enjoyable experience at the Sheraton Fisherman’s Wharf. We understand that a lot of our travels have had a long journey before arriving at our location. Therefore our wonderful staff always tries to accommodate early arrivals so our tired travelers can get comfortable and relax before heading out to explore. Our concierge is always the best resource to help find the hidden gems that San Francisco has to offer.

I was initially a bit hesitant based on some of the reviews on Tripadvisor but was very pleasantly surprised once we got there. The hotel looked fresh and bright, altogether very welcoming. The check-in staff was polite and efficient.

Definitely ask for a room on the top floor. The slanted roof gives the rooms there a it of an edge. The room was very spacious and clean. The best feature must have been the bed and the pillows which were extremely comfortable.

The hotel is ideal for tourists. There a lots of restaurants in the vicinity of the hotel (check out Joe's Crab Shack for a bucket of delicious shellfish and the Hollywood Cafe for a breakfast experience). There is a 7/11across the road from the hotel for late night cravings (and stamps if required). The hotel is also in walking distance to the tram station, streetcar stops, Pier39 seals, the wiggly street, bicycle rentals and the Alcatraz terminal.

The only complaint I had was that our room was facing the driveway in between the two hotel buildings with the outside seats and fireplaces. This can get quite noisy at night and needs to be better regulated with sort of a curfew.

Room Tip: Top floor rooms facing away from the driveway.

Thanks for sharing your positive experience at our hotel. It is always nice to hear from our guests who enjoyed all the wonderful things our hotel has to offer. We do enforce a curfew at our fire pits. We have addressed this with our security department so that future guests won’t be disturbed. Thank you for staying with us and we hope to see you in the future.

Just spent six nights here for a business week in San Francisco. If location was your only concern then this hotel would be just fine. I believe the hotel gets away with a lot because of its location and the fact that tourists visiting for the first time pick the place only for its location. The beds in the room are very comfortable but that is the only plus for the room. The bathrooms are tiny and barley enough closet space for one person let a lone a family. The staff is not very polite and could care less about throwing you a smile or trying to win your business for future stays. I guess they figure some other tourist will take the room if you don't. Plus, nothing like spending $58 a night to park your car and having to wait 20 min just to hand your ticket to somebody to wait another 20 min for the car. Like I said, spent six consecutive nights here and ate at the breakfast buffet each morning (Free for SPG Platinum's) and the items never changed. A little variety would have been nice. The gym is small but a 24hr Fitness is across the street. There is also a grocery store right across the street so you easily pick up extra water or snacks at a decent price. Easy access to many attractions. Only cost $2 to get to AT&T park for a giants game and took only 20 min from a stop right across from hotel. Cable car just a few blocks away. Lots of restaurants within walking distance. All in all, would return but would not be my first or second choice when in San Francisco.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback about your stay, I am glad you enjoyed our Sheraton Suite Sleeper beds they are beyond comfortable. I am surprised to hear our staff did not make you feel more welcome as we generally receive very high marks for our customer service. We will be sure to work on this as we are always striving to improve our guest’s experience. Thank you and warm regards.

Overall, I would say that I did not enjoy my stay at this hotel. During check-in my only request was to have a room away from noise and they ended up putting us in a room right above the entrance to the garage. I couldn't imagine anyone staying in that room. The hotel then saved the situation and placed us in an 'upgraded' room that was slightly less noisy. Despite the helpfulness of the hotel staff I would still not return to this hotel. The rooms are well furnished and the bathrooms are pretty nice. However, the beds are uncomfortable and the air conditioners are outdated. Also, I don't think there is one room in this hotel that would immune to the noise from outside. We had to use the old and loud A/C to block the outside noise. This hotel is doing the best it can, but the shape of the hotel is like a maze and it's in a very noisy area. Two things that cannot be changed no matter how much they try.
