I was in San Francisco for a conference, and I stayed here for 4 nights at the end of January. Overall, I found the hotel to be okay, I didn't have any issues.
Here are things that I liked: Location is great for the purpose of my trip. The conference took place at the Moscone convention center 1 block away from the hotel, which is a plus. There's plenty of shopping, restaurants and cafes within 1 or 2 blocks of the hotel, including a cream puffs shop (yummy), a Mexican restaurant, a wine bar, Apple store, clothing stores.... too many to list them all. If you need coffee, there's a Starbucks in the lobby as well as across the street. I also went to the La Boulange bakery directly across the street (delicious chocolate croissants) for breakfast everyday. I bought snacks and water and wine from the Target across the street, and in the same building, there's a movie theater and a food court as well. My room was a good size - I can imagine it's plenty spacious enough for 2 people. The bathroom has plenty of counter space for my numerous toiletries. The towels are large, white and fluffy, just the way I prefer.
If you're staying here, you may want to try the bar/lounge on the 39th floor - great for enjoying the view and drinks.
The only delta I can think of is that the facilities are in need of an update, specifically, the rooms and the lobby bar. I stayed in a room on the 5th floor, and I find the combination of low/outdated popcorn ceiling, dark/well-used furniture, well worn carpet, dim lighting, musty odor and lack of natural lights made the room feel depressing. Same with the lobby bar.
All in all, I find that the hotel worked just fine for my purposes, and I would stay here again if the location is right.
