“Great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

We stayed here at the end of a trip up the Californian coast for a 6 night stop in San Francisco. The parking garage was easy to find to save the cost of valet parking although the self park charge was quite high at $45 I've found this is normal for San Francisco and not the most expensive. During check in we were advised of some renovation work going on and they apologised for any disturbance. We were given one of the (very) newly refurbished rooms, the decor wasn't really to our taste but it was inoffensive and added some character. The room itself was plenty big enough for two (there were 2 x queen sized beds) and the bathroom/shower was great. There was some noise from the road outside during the night but this is fairly typical of staying in a city hotel, although double glazing would certainly have helped! Unfortunately we were woken/disturbed the next morning by the workers banging and drilling for the refurbishment in the room next door, not very pleasant. We did ask for a room change away from the work but were advised that nothing was available straight away and we should check back with them later. We no alternative we had the same noises alarm clock th next morning. When asking for the second time to be moved we were given the same excuse that there was nothing available straight away, the helpful clerk did check and advised us that they would be finishing later that day as th rooms were due to be let. With this knowledge we thought we'd stay put rather than have th hassle of moving. Thankfully the third morning was much quieter and stayed that way during the rest of our stay even though work continued during the day. A happy end to what could have ruined our stay, the staff helped as best they could I'm sure and were not dismissive of our problem. In fact all staff we encountered were friendly and helpful.

The location of the hotel is perfect for Fishermans wharf, being a 5 minute walk. It is also close to the cable cars and trams if you are wanting to go downtown, we had a car for the first couple of days but returned it as it wasn't needed. North beach and little Italy are in walking distance for some really good restaurant. I would certainly come back to this hotel for a stay in San Francisco, next time the refurbishment should be finished!

Very well located hotel. We stayed in one of the refurbished rooms on the third floor which have been very stylishly designed. Nice staff. Only issue is that if you are staying at the front of the hotel as we were there is a lot of noise ...not good if you are a light sleeper.
Having said that we will probably stay here again next time we are in SF.

Room Tip: Ask for a refurbished room at the back of the hotel

We stayed here for 4 nights at the start of a California touring holiday. We had booked a Club room on the 3rd floor. It overlooked an inner courtyard so there was no traffic noise. There was certainly refurb work going on but we were not disturbed by any noise. As the Club room was closed as part of the refurb we had complimentary breakfast in the restaurant each morning - and it was an excellent breakfast with a choice of hot or cold dishes. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and found it to be a perfect central location. We picked up our rental car on our last day - dealers within a short walk of the hotel.

I gave this hotel an above average rating because the location is perfect! Any hotel on that corner (Jones & North Point) is the best Fisherman's Wharf location in my opinion. We stayed on the second floor with a window facing Bay Street and the street noise definitely comes through. If you ask the front desk, they will bring you a complimentary package of earplugs and that solves it...neither one of us heard a thing the rest of the night. The staff was friendly, however, we didn't spend much time in the hotel, so I can't elaborate. The fact that I don't have much to tell is a testament to how smoothly everything went. Check-in/out was quick and no-hassle, the room was cleaned every day, the shower was hot and forceful, there were plenty of towels, there was a mini-fridge for our snacks, etc. One thing to keep in mind: this hotel is one of the FIRST stops on the hotel's recommended airport shuttle schedule - so if you're checking bags, you need to leave the hotel 3 hours prior to your flight, or else pay the extra for a cab (which will take you to the airport without all the stops). Even though I tend to like luxury hotels, we will probably stay here again because it's convenient to everything on the Wharf and everything ran so smoothly. Make sure you eat breakfast @ Hollywood's right across the street - The crab omelet is to die for.

High priced hotel that is being renovated. Noise is ridiculous and makes it impossible to sleep. Nice rooms but nothing fancy or worth the price. Good location is the only thing this hotel has going for it.

I booked my stay via their web page, which mentioned nothing about the renovation, nor that the top floor special ended up putting me on the 1st floor without reducing the price. It was a nice room, but seems pricey considering what was advertised. After I asked, they did provide the water that was part of the extra cost, and even provided me 2 free breakfast buffet coupons after I asked.

Room Tip: Centrally located to everything

We stayed here for four nights, great location easy walking distance to Fishermans wharf and Lombard Street. Our room was upgraded on arrival but we were also told construction was being done on the property between a reasonable hour, this however was not the case on the last two mornings we spoke to the front desk they were incredibly helpful and apologetic they compensated us quite adequately which we were very happy with. Overall would defenitly stay again as perfect location and reasonable price.
