5 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

My daughters and I stayed 3 nights in this exceptional hotel. This hotel is in a great location for easy walking distances to various attractions. Our room was quiet, clean and the best breakfast by far. Thomas was the absolute best host and Bahita (sorry on spelling of her name) was extremely helpful for any questions we had as well. We are already planning a trip to Pier 2620 next year and my boss is staying here 1 month after we were here. The unique wine bar was fun.

Got a deal on Groupon and after reading multiple reviews, was a little concerned about how this place might pan out. However, I was very pleasantly surprised with this property.

Is it a bit noisy? Yes, you can hear the street traffic but it was not nearly as bas as my roommates' snoring. Is the gym closed? Yes, but if you are a runner, this place is 4 blocks off of the Embarcko - really beautiful run and you can go forever. Is this a five star hotel? No and it is not priced as such. As many have said, the location is fabulous. Our room was very clean, the bed was comfortable and the staff was so nice.

This is not a 'full-service' hotel, and I don't think it is advertised as such. Anyway, why would you want to eat in a hotel in a city like SF? There is a cute wine bar inside but if you prefer to grab a bottle or two of your own, the Safeway is just a few blocks down the street and you can use the glasses from the wine bar. There is also a Walgreens across the street for anything else you need and a Starbucks one block away. They have a microwave in the lobby to heat up some of the items in their 'mini-market' but I used it for leftover Chinese food that was so good I had to eat it for breakfast. (Hunan's Home - Chinatown BTW).

So much within walking distance for the tourists (my travel-companions) including the trolley, fisherman's wharf, Ghiradelli Square and just about anything else for a tourist to see. One block away from the ultimate breakfast spot - Hollywood Cafe.

Biggest downside, as many others have mentioned, is the cost of parking. $40 is high for a hotel guest but the street parking on the weekend is free until 7 am - information shared by the staff at the front desk. Great staff.

I would stay here again - great value, great location. Please lower your parking rates for your guests.

Room Tip: Try to get a room away from the street traffic.

Stayed 3 nights at Pier 2620. Great location for Fisherman's wharf, Cable car and easy walking distances (but do not forget the steep hills) to most attractions in the city. Very good value. No point hiring a car for San Francisco, parking is expensive and you see a lot more walking the city. We hired a car after our stay to tour California. Taxi from airport (SFO) to hotel was 55 dollars.

ROOMS.
We were in room 114, which overlooked the courtyard, so no traffic noise. The rooms are a good size, very clean, well decorated, plenty of space to move around and store luggage. A very comfortable king size bed, 50 inch tv (which we did not use, too busy exploring San Francisco), desk, chairs, a/c, coffee and tea makings, free Wi-Fi in bedrooms and lobby. Good bathroom and shower/bath. Hotel provides good quality toiletries.
The only negative was other guests being noisy late at night, rooms could do with improved sound proofing.

RECEPTION/LOBBY
Staff were efficient, helpful and polite, no problems encountered. There is free access to computers in the lobby area and you are able to use a printer free.

LOCATION
Close to Fisherman's Wharf, only 5-10 minutes away, Cable Car (Powell-Mason line) is less then 5 minutes away. Car hire and bike hire shops are also within 5-10 minutes. Several cafes and a pharmacy/small supermarket a couple of minutes away. We walked everywhere from the hotel i.e. Fisherman's Wharf, China Town, North Beach, Pier 33 (ferry to Alcatraz) and 39, Ghirardelli Square, Coit Tower, Lombard St etc. Wear comfortable shoes. Although we hired bikes nearby to cycle over the Golden Gate Bridge (took the ferry back), well worth it. Took nearby cable car to Union Square area.

FOOD
We never used the hotel for food, always ate out due to several very good restaurants and cafes in the area.

OVERALL
Very good hotel, if the rooms were sound proofed more I would have given a score of excellent.

Room Tip: Courtyard rooms do not suffer from possible traffic noise.

We stayed here for 2 nights this hotel was part of a fly & hotel package. The staff was very friendly and helpful, we were greeted every time we exited and entered the hotel. The room was large and clean but a little tired looking. It seems like the renovations fell a bit short. The location is excellent, so if this is number one on your list I highly recommend it. I'm not sure why exactly but you could here every step the people took above us, and you could here conversations next door :( maybe because it's an older building? We stayed on the first floor facing the interior so no traffic was heard. The hotel only has 3 floors so ask for the 3rd floor, you should have a better experience than we did. over all I would say this was a good experience.

Fishermans Wharf is a good location to stay in SF, lots of restaurants and the hotel was within walking distance of the PIER for Alcatraz, and also the cable car for a ride into Union Square. The Hotel has/is being done up. Our room was nice and clean, although the maid service didn't take all of the rubbish away one day. Upon check in one of the front staff was short with his answers when I questioned him about parking. But all the other staff I came across were friendly.

We love our location too; it always keeps us smiling! We are very sorry that housekeeping didn’t clear away all your garbage one day and that one of our staff members did not offer you excellent service. We hope to see you again when you next visit San Francisco.
