“Close to attractions and transport links”

Stayed four 3 nights, very clean and pleasant stay, staff very helpful and very close to the f train line, and the traditional cable cars as well as busses to all locations. Walking distance to most piers (39 and Alcatraz piers). Rate this hotel very highly.

“Hilton For the Honeymoon”

We stayed in San Fran for one night on the Honeymoon and ok, probably my husbands fault for not mentioning the celebration but we arrived (after paying with points) to find a room with double beds. We expressed our feelings and while they could not do anything to switch the room, it was one night so not the end of the world. They gave us an upgrade to our breakfast which was nice but when we arrived that day, it wasnt overly busy and we were pretty much ignored for a good 10 minutes. We finally asked what the voucher was good for and were told to go to the buffet. It was fine for what we paid.... room was clean and quiet. Just not overly impressed (other than the lady at the front desk who did all she could)

Side note, the valet guy in the morning was great. We were going somwhere that was a few blocks away and he said if we didn't find parking (I had heels on) come back and he'd store the car again for a few hours.

“Not so great”

We stayed here one night as a group. The facility is average, room and amenities are okay. Location is good - Starbucks and Denny's down the street, a Walgreen's across the street, cable cars a short walk away.

Check-in for 11 people took so long - only one person at the Front Desk.

Cleanliness could be improved. No one picked up the used plastic cup from the lobby coffee table and room service items left outside rooms remained in the hallway from at least 8pm to 7am.

I also heard very clearly the person above walking.

And trying to phone in for a wake-up call took forever!

But the most annoying of all was the internet charge. It's $9.99/24hrs (free in the lobby), but they failed to say for one device only. I connected my cell phone to the internet, but when I wanted internet connection for my laptop, I had to pay ANOTHER $9.99/24hrs!

“Needs some flower-power!”

Short tourist-type family break in SF where we wanted a decent hotel.

Reasonably accessible using public transport, and rooms etc were fine. Front desk tended to be a bit "jobsworth" in attitude - we were told how to solve problems but weren't actually helped (which when the problem was contacting our room from the lobby was just frustrating - why could they not just put us through? Other guests had a similar experience).

Location just off the main wharf area was good for touristy things

Nothing negative really, just a bit soul-less.

Room Tip: Try to keep away from the traffic-light junction noise (Bay/Jones).

“Good location but in need of a facelift”

I stayed here for 3 nights while visiting San Francisco for vacation. It was a fantastic location close to the Wharf where there were tons of touristy things to do. It was a short ride to Union Square and there was close access to double decker tour buses and cable cars. The rooms themselves were in need of an upgrade and were quite old looking, not the typical Hilton standard, but clean. You were definitely paying for location. The staff was very friendly and helpful but there was nothing memorable about this hotel so I probably wouldn't stay again.
