Upon checking into the hotel we find out that our room we booked through expedia got "bumped" and the one king size bed we reserved got changed into two full size beds. Our room was cleaned the second day but the garbage, which was over flowing wasn't taken out, when we came back the garbage fell over spilling all over the floor. When we called to notify the front desk about the garbage and our discontentment with the room, all they were offering was to send a supervisor up to investigate our garbage situation that was already cleaned up (by us) at 1100 at night and were very persistent on sending someone to our room. The person who took our phone call was not concerned with our needs but rather looking to reprimand someone. We are not picky or hard to please but the hotel aspect of our trip was so bad that we felt the need to post a complaint. The rooms aren't that great, your basically staying for the location. Save your money and stay at a Holiday Inn. This is my first review of service/products, i wish it could've been a positive one.

Dear Troyathome,

I am very sorry to hear that you had such a disappointing experience on your recent visit to the Parc 55. I will share your comments with our housekeeping and front desk departments. It sounds like we made a few mistakes on our end which we wil most certainly correct. Thanks for the feedback.

Sincerely,

Management

Service was good enough, but indifferent. Blaring music greeted us as we got off the elevator, which made us want to leave as soon as possible. The manager explained the music selection and level was to wake people up - even at 10:00 p,m,? Their restaurant service was indifferent, robotic and food mediocre.

The best part of this experience was the cleaning staff. We happened to be in our room when the housekeeping supervisor came by to check the rooms after they had been cleaned. She wanted to know about every little thing we thought about the condition of our room and continued to follow up when we pointed out a few neglected areas.

Dear tcake1,

Thank you for taking the time to write about your recent stay at the Parc 55. I have already shared your wonderful comments about our housekeeping staff with that department. I will follow-up with the restaurant team here and I also apologize for the loudness of the music in our public areas.

Best Regards,

Management

If you can stay for less than $100/night, then this hotel is fine. There's nothing disgusting or unsafe about. However, if you are looking for a nice place to stay for $100 or more per night, I would choose somewhere else.

First, on Tuesday night around 9 p.m., I called for a wake up call and no one answered. I hung up and kept calling back every 15 minutes with the same results. After an hour of trying, I called every number I could find -- front desk, conceirge, housekeeping, room service, etc. and NO ONE answered the phone. This was very frustrating. (However, I was able to place a wake up call request on the other nights of my stay)

Second, I wouldn't rely solely on the wake-up call. It wouldn't ever be right at the specified time.

Third, the street noise was extremely loud. I heard sirens and construction noise all day and night the entire week. As I was checking out, a colleague told me there are floor vents that are left open, but if you close them, it quiets the noise significantly. I wish I had been told I could close those vents (or if those vents had been closed in the first place.)

In conclusion, this hotel is fine, but I'd stay somewhere else with all the great hotels San Francisco offers!

This is a nice looking hotel (W-esque) hiding what's underneath an old decrepit building.

When I turned the tap on in tub, the water ran brown for 20 seconds.

When I turned on the tap in the sink, it spewed water all over my suit.

The walls are PAPER THIN. I could hear everything happening in the halls or next door (a room inhabited by a mother and her pre-teen daughter, who spent much time debating what she would wear)

And for a hotel located downtown, it fails miserably in the basics for a business traveler. The business center is closed and there's no way to print anything should you need it for your meeting. The wifi on my floor kept going in and out every 10 minutes. And finally on my last morning, their internet billing system refused to let me sign up for more access.

Just appalling. An utter failure.

Dear MarkP_9,

Our apologies that you did not enjoy your stay with us. As we finalize our recent renovation, it sounds like you experienced several of the effects of this. I will follow-up with the front desk as you should have received a letter alerting you to the overnight water shutdown which took place during your stay for necessary maintenance. That would explain the brown water for the first few seconds. We are also in the process of renovating our business center (which is why it was closed), and upgrading our in-room internet. Again I do apologize that all of this added up to a poor experience for you. We look forward to completing the last phases of the renovation so we can better serve all of our guests.

Kindly,

Management

I booked this hotel at the last minute and was very happy with it. It is right across the street from the Westfield shopping center and the Powell Street BART station; quite a convenient location. The hotel itself is very modern and clean. It felt very safe, which was important to me as a female traveling alone.

When I arrived I notiiced there was a conference of Ebay taking place there, and also that many pilots and flight attendants stay there. To me, that says the hotel is good, because big companies and airline employees know where to stay.

I had some drinks and appetizers in the bar which were tasty and reasonably priced. The bartender served my wine with a "back"; a little extra portion in a seperate glass, which was nice. during happy hour, buy one appetizer and the second is 55 cents. We had the fried calamari and chicken satay and both were very good.

The room was on the smaller sie but fully equipped, and the beds were comfortable. the view of the city was fantastic. The only complaint I had was that the movies on the tv were very expensive ($16.99) and the tv was hard to operate generally - I could not find the local channels at all. Also, there was a wireless internet connection in the room but it was quite slow and they charged $12.99 for each day.

Overall I was very satisfied with this hotel and would definitely stay there again.
