“Best Beds in the Business”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 27, 2013

My Fiance stayed at the Marriott Fisherman's Wharf for two nights as we traveled the coast of California.

Right from check-in the experience at this property was fabulous. The parking attendant went above and beyond to ensure that we had a seamless check in and the front desk was extremely friendly and helpful to us. Upon check in we were given two free drink tickets and the hotel bar has at atmosphere you don't often see. It was busy and very sociable.

The rooms are quite large for a downtown property in a major city, and the hotel was very close to all major attractions (walking distance) and the City Transit system had all services right outside the hotel doors. The concierge was also extremely helpful to us in helping us plan our sight seeing.

All of that said, the best part about our stay was the bed. Each year I spend over 120 nights per year in hotels for business or travel. The bed here was the absolute best I have ever slept on in a hotel.

This property is in a great location! Perfect for those wanting to go to fishermans warf!
The rooms were a good size and nice, but the cleanliness wasnt great. There was hair in the bathroom and my bed. Not nice! We also asked for two queens and got a king so had to get that changed.
I felt breakfast was a little underwhelming. My daughter had a chocolate milk that was out of date.. Apart from that, ok. The service was great!
The bell hop and reception staff weren't very knowledgable. I asked about airport transfers and he gave me a slip of paper and said call these people. I don't have a USA compatible mobile so not sure how he wanted me to do that.
Parking was great.. And included in our package, which was perfect!
Thanks MARRIOTT!

Nice hotel with nice rooms. Fairly large.

We came to San Francisco from Maui at 8 o'clock in the morning and were quite exhausted from at five hour flight during the night.

So we were very, very happy when we checked in and were told that we could have our room immediately. This made us survive our first day in San Francisco.

However the next day I was coming down with a cold and thougt that the breakfast buffet and the a la carte menu's was way too large. The very kind waitress saw to it that I just had a little scrambled eggs and at peace of toast. "No problem - just tell me what you want and I will get it for you". Furthermore she insisted to make me a pot of tea with a large cup of fresh lemon wedges to squeese in - to take to the room. (no charge)

These stories just to tell you that the employees at Marriott San Francisco Fisherman's Warf are exceptionally frindly!

It's not easy to get to the hotel from the airport by public transportation - but if you take the BART train to Powel Station and then catch bus no. 30, it will take you on a small sightseeing through Chinatown and stop right outside the hotel.

Just a few minutes walk from Fisherman's Warf and Pier 39.

I stayed at The Fisherman's Wharf Marriott for 3 nights. The staff were always friendly, helpful, courteous and professional. The rooms are good quality, with comfortable beds, good TVs and it is the easiest connection to the hotel wifi I have ever seen - just put in your name and your room number, and off you go. I stayed bed and breakfast and the breakfasts were really good quality, with a hot buffet, fruit and loads of fresh coffee. I'd highly recommend anyone looking to stay in San Francisco who is looking to explore the coast, Alcatraz, Pier 39, Fort Mason and the beach. It's within a short (<5 minutes) walk from the Hyde Cable Car for a memorable journey across the City!

Stayed 3 nights for work with my husband. The people who work here were really friendly and quite helpful. The rooms were a fairly good size and comfy but overall the hotel was a bit long in the tooth for the way Marriott prices it. The bar was fine, very handy for a late drink and breakfast convenient but nothing special.

The location is stellar. We walked to Chinatown,to Pier 39, Lombard St. ...frankly all over. No complaints at all about the great location!

I couldn't get a room downtown so I stayed here. Glad I did. Very nice hotel, only 5 floors so it's not so large and busy as the other Marriotts in town. The room was nice, the AC plenty cold, which was wonderful. I slept like a baby.

Stayed here for four nights. Good location and staff very helpful with tours etc. well located for Little Italy just a few blocks up Columbus. We had been told that the Fishermans Wharf area was pretty seedy and run down. It certainly lived up to it's reputation. Compared to the area around Pier 2 or 3, the further round we went, the better it got. This may have been due to the America's Cup effect, but the whole area needs a good scrub. The hotel was fine, clean and convenient, but that's about it. Breakfast was basic to say the least.
