“Nice Place, Some Issues”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 20, 2014

I stayed only one night on a business trip and had mixed reactions.

On the positive side, I was upgraded to a nice suite, and the room was generally quite nice. The bed was very good and I slept pretty well. The room service was amazingly quick and the food better than expected, especially the San Francisco Clam Chowder. Service in general was good.

The negatives were mostly on the practical level:

1. Though there was a big work space, there was a dearth of electric outlets. There were two awkwardly underneath, but they had a hard time holding a plug. This was a general issue.

2. The only curtains were relatively sheer, with nothing to block out light.

3. On the Fourth floor there was a lot of street noise, including a clanging street car.

4. Although there was a bath and a half bath, they were kind of oddly divided. I naturally used the en suite full bath, but it had much less counter space and I had to get a glass from the half bath.

On the whole, I would be happy to return on my next business trip to SF, especially as it is very close to my office out there, but there are a few odd annoyances.

I stayed here for 3 nights. Hotel is located in a great area with many restaurants and shops nearby. Our room was clean and spacious and had a great view of the Bay (definitely request a Bay View). Beds were super comfy. I had access to the Regency Club on the top level of the hotel that offered nice amenities and a panoramic view of the water. The staff was very friendly and helpful when giving recommendations on things to do.

When relocating back to San Francisco, after a full week of house hunting, we treated ourselves to a little R&R before heading back home to pack up. My husband, who's stayed at the Hyatt Regency, SF many times in the past, insisted we stay here. I'm so glad he got his way!

The Bay View Balcony Room we stayed in did have an amazing balcony and view. We were so tired by the time we checked in, we literally could have stayed there our entire visit — and we did for the most part — minus the occasional outting for dinner or lunch. The bed was super comfy, the bathroom was huge, the water pressure powerful — and tons of outlets for charging our devices made life easy. The brunch at the hotel was really quite good — definitely worth trying if you want to splurge a bit.

Room Tip: Get a Bay View Balcony!

We ended our California trip here in San Francisco with a week here at this hotel. What a great way to end our amazing vacation. This hotel is wonderful....has the best location and great service. From check in to check out the entire stay was fantastic. We had breakfast each day at the wonderful buffet which was loaded with a variety of foods...they also offer a menu. The staff working there is amazing. There is a trolley stop right outside the front door to the left and we were able to buy our trolley ticket across the street at Walgreens. There were cabs available right outside with no advance notice ever needed. The hotel has valet car service and we really enjoyed not needing our car the week we were there....we walked, took the trolley or a cab. Walking was our favorite as the weather was amazing while we were there. There was so much to do and see there we are already planning our next trip there! There are plenty of fantastic places to eat too! This is the only place we will stay on our next trip here....fantastic! Since we were here during the holidays....there was also ice skating outside right by the hotel.

Room Tip: we were so glad to have a room on a high floor to enjoy the views

Thank you so much for taking the time to write us a review. We are thrilled you had such a wonderful time in San Francisco. I must agree with you our location is unbeatable and convenient access to public transportation. It is always great to hear compliment on our staffs and I'll be sure to share your comment with them. The ice skating rank is definitely one of the highlights during the holiday season and we can't wait for you to come back to visit us again soon!

We stayed at Hyatt Regency for a total of 6 nights. A nice hotel with a good concierge service and attentive staff. Everyone at the hotel was accommodating. I really loved the breakfast buffet. The location of the hotel is good, just next to the train station. Also, a lot of restaurants, grocery stores are just adjacent to the hotel.

This hotel is stunningly beautiful. Arrived from the east coast to have breakfast in the hotel. It was fair, nothing spectacular. The rooms were typical. But, the location and overall ambiance of this hotel is perfect. It's close to shopping, restaurants, etc. Beautiful from top to bottom! Would love to stay here again!
