“Good location on Fisherman's Wharf”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2012

We arrived from the UK late afternoon local time. Check in was effortless and we had a room on the fifth (top) floor. The hotel is a few blocks back from the Wharf so there is no view as such from the rooms. The room was fairly large and had two double beds in it. It would have been better if there had only been one bed and a larger sitting area. However there were two chairs and a small table. There was a large flat screen TV, coffee maker, telephone, radio/alarm/ipod docking station, iron and ironing board. There was also a safe in the room. Storage space was adequate for a short stay. The bathroom was well appointed with a shower over the bath.
There was a laundrette (washer and drier) and ice machine along the corridor. The hotel had a small outdoor pool which was accessed from the 3rd floor. The bar/restaurant was used for breakfast which was the only meal we ate in the hotel. We chose to have the buffet which at $14 for continental or $19 for the full works we thought was good value. There was also a choice of individual items from the menue. The only drawback for me is that the bar formed part of the retaurant and there were several TV screens around the room. In the evenings the people in the bar tended to spill over into the restaurant when watching TV. All the staff at the hotel were very freindly and obliging. The hotel is a short walk from Fishermans Wharf and Pier 39. Local Transport, Street Car (F Line), Cable Car and buses are nearby so getting to Union Square is easy. I would suggest the F Line Street Cars as thet run every few minutes. The cable cars can get very busy later in the day so I would advise to catch one from Fishermans Wharf to Union Square fairly early in the morning. A 3 day pass at $21 dollars is good value and is good for all municiple transport. The pass can be bought at Wallgreens which is near the F Line terminus.
If I were to return to San Francisco I would definately stay at the Hyatt at Fishermans Wharf.

Room Tip: Ask for an inward facing room as there will be no street noise.

We stayed here for 5 nights and to be fair it was very goof. On arrival we were given a tiny room with no storage but were soon moved to a larger one. However we did have two evenings at around 6.00pm when a maid used her pass key and just walked in without knocking. Very uncomfortable with this but manager very apologetic. Staff extremely pleasant and helpful.

Not sure we would stay there again. Bedroom and bathroom clean but public areas not so.

Room Tip: Ask for 2 double beds.

We chose Fisherman's Wharf to get out of the hustle and bustle of Union Square. It was definitely the right choice and the Hyatt made it worthwhile.

We were greeted by Leslie who was lovely and helpful, especially when we wanted to have a mini fridge brought up to the room. This was done promptly and at no cost.

The room was large with a comfortable bed and contemporary decor. The WiFi is not free except in the lounge which is a real shame.

We had a view of the pool which was ... interesting. I think a few people lounging at the pool had no idea or didn't care that others could see them. One woman was sitting with her legs apart which was so disgusting! Another guy was happily picking his nose - getting nice and deep. Tip for those guests - you're not at your house! People watching, indeed!

The location of the hotel is fantastic. Not far from Pier 39 and also where the sightseeing bus begins their route. We used this to get to Union Square, then hopped back on when we were ready. Lots of places to eat. There is also a SafeWay super close which is great for picking up lunch etc. It was also close to our departure point for our day trips.

The service at this hotel was fantastic. Everyone was very courteous and welcoming. House keeping went above and beyond (especially with coffee requests). Check out was speedy.

Would definitely stay here again! I was very wary about staying in Fisherman's Wharf overall, but now I wouldn't stay anywhere else.

The Hyatt at Fisherman's Wharf is perfectly located in Fisherman's Wharf, 2 blocks behind the main FW front and just a few minutes from the Cable Cars and F line. The staff were delightful, and were extremely apologetic for just a few minutes hold-up at check-in. Our room was quiet (interior, facing on to the pool) and the bed very comfortable. Nothing particularly negative to say; maybe a little on the pricey side, that's all.

[A 10 minute walk away was Rose Pistola - highly recommended for dinner if you want to get away from the bog-standard restaurants in FW. Another recommendation is to hire bikes, cross the Golden Gate bridge and follow the trail round to Sausalito and Tiburon, catching the ferry back - especially if the weather is good!]

hotel was good and clean, staff was pleasant and helpful. location is ideal if you want access to fisherman's wharf (a couple of blocks away, so you are spared the traffic and noise).

I don't get the bad reviews - people need to be reasonable about expectations. this hotel is in the most in demand and touristy part of a very popular city. it is priced accordingly. if you want high style and/or a lower price, then stay somewhere else.

however, if you are making a family visit with kids (like us), then the hotel is more than fine. the restaurant and other staff members were exceptionally friendly and helpful. hotel was very clean and pool was warm.

We stayed two nights at the Hyatt at Fishermans wharf. The rooms were very spacious, the beds were comfy and the bathroom was beautiful

The buffet breakfast was very nice and the staff friendly.
The only thing I would grumble about was the internet was only free in the foyer and there was not allot of seating/ or power points there. Really Hyatt free internet is everywhere today.

The location is great right in Fishermans Wharf and just around the corner is a cable car stop.

We loved it. Very imressive staff, always had a smile for us. Clean rooms. Quiet. Concerge helped us navigate the sites. Felt very safe here. Easy walk to fisherman's wharf. Rooms were clean and large. I can't understand the negative comments of other reveiwers, could it be the attitude of the individual?

Room Tip: Hollywood cafe across the street is to die for! We did breakfast there 3 days straight.
