“Great location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 20, 2014

Rates good for a great location! Breakfast good with great service but pricey. Room was clean and freshly redone. Great linens with both firm and soft pillows! Nice dark room for sleeping! Good guest services who was helpful in booking dinner reservations. Forget the airport shuttle. Driver was rude and drove like a manic with a bad attitude.

Friendly front desk clerk. The bell guy wasn't very helpful. Breakfast buffet a little expensive and so is the parking at $45 a night. The room was a little dated and small but it's a holiday inn so what do you expect. Great location to see the sites and ride the cable cars. Plenty of places to eat near buy.

Hello Leland0504,

Thank you so much for staying with us as well as posting your thoughts on your stay. I am sorry we did not provide you with the wow factor that you deserve when traveling. It is true that parking is at a premium when in San Francisco. We do try to provide a value when parking as our breakfast for our area. I do hope you stay with us again and hope you reach out to me if doing so as I would like to provide a complimentary upgrade. Hope to see you soon.

i have just come back from this hotel in march 2014,i was quiet surprised ,I read all reviews and was worried what I had booked, The hotel was very clean and the rooms were quiet big, the bed was soft and the pillows were soft as well, there is no kettle in the rooms but if u ask they will give you one which I did, The food is not all that good I only eat once there and it is quite costly as well, the staff were friendly and helpful, we were in room 275 which was nice but the view is facing back of hotel ,noise no problem. You are about 5 min walk to the wharf where all the entertainment is ,it is quite expensive to eat out and mostly fish restaurants. The trip to Alcatraz is very good book it from pier 41,across from hotel is a café called joannies good breakfast .the cab from the airport was about 55-60 dollars.

Room Tip: room 275 view is brick wall but quiet, its a lovely room

The hotel is two blocks off of the actual waterfront. Near enough to be convenient. Far enough away to keep the noise level down most of the time. Rooms are basic - typical Holiday Inn. My room was spacious and clean. The bed and pillows were comfortable. Guest services were friendly and helpful. Rooms don't have good views overall. The walls are a bit thin. You can hear rambunctious people walking back from the wharf but they weren't loud enough to keep me awake.
The position of this hotel is perfect if you may love to be closer to the piers. The rate is good according to the area and to be in SF. Three steps far from the cable car and from the best bus to financial district or attractive area. Perfect for who loves running in the morning because the fort mason's park is 2 minute running!

Though not special, our room was clean and very serviceable. The front desk and restaurant staff were very friendly and helpful. We booked a package with the breakfast buffet and were very pleased with the food quality and selection. The location was great for walking to Fisherman's Wharf!

Stayed here as it was convenient for the husband who was there for business and we decided to add an extra few days on the end to do the touristy things. The biggest disappointment was that they upgraded all the other parties from our company to better rooms but not us, not that we needed the upgrade, it just made us feel disappointed - not what you want your first impressions to be. The rooms were noisy, but I am informed that that is a problem of all Fishermans wharf; and the bed was only a double, again, not a problem, but not expected when in the States. Didn't eat at the restaurant, breakfast was expensive and there are plenty of good eateries around.
