“Excellent stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 13, 2012

The staff reviews are no joke. The staff is unbelievable in customer service and just pure hospitality. This is a young staff. There are no career concierges here but they deliver hospitality, warmth and easygoing charm with effortless grace, from the desk to the porters and food service. The hotel has no kitchen but there's a wonderful coffee setup every morning with a lovely hot chocolate service - nice touch. Another charm is this hotel is dog friendly. Nearly very guest brought a dog and the staff bring their too. Pooches really lighten the atmosphere. The location is great. Several great restaurants nearby and the Bart and other public transport is within walking distance. On East Coast time, I was up before daybreak every day. The empty Ferry Terminal is enchanting in the wee hours of the morning, the smell of bread baking, warm milk, the muffled sounds from busy kitchens all fill that hall. It was a nice private hour for me in an otherwise swamped tourist attraction. Watch the commuter boats come in, then start your day!
Yes, the rooms are tiny. The deluxe rooms are slightly larger. I think the king deluxe is probably the best value if a small room bothers you. Oh, do not put the do not disturb/please clean the room sign on your door when you leave - its easily mistaken for just do not disturb, which means your room won't get cleaned that day. Nevertheless, I'm giving this stay the 5 stars. It's all about the staff and the hospitality.

Room Tip: King room deluxe has the best value, space vs. price. Higher floor and south side are quietest.

This hotel lived up to its great reviews! The staff was fast and efficient checking in and offered great local info on what to see and do (and how to get there). I strongly recommend getting a bay view room because the view is simply amazing. The hotel has several great fun extras like the milk and cookies which were a nice treat after walking back from dinner. It's located in the financial district near the water which means it's a little removed for some of the super touristy areas which I found relaxing. But it was also easy to drive and take public transit (surface trollies or the subway) to get places so it didn't feel cut off.

We loved our stay at the Harbor Court hotel. It was close to the BART, only a 2-3 block walk which is nice when hauling your luggage from the airport. During the week the restaurant and hotels in the area are busy with the work crowd so Harbor Court has a free happy hour from 5pm - 6pm with free beer and wine. There was also morning coffee available in the lobby to save you a walk to a coffee shop. The lobby also has free cookies and milk after 9PM. Anything we needed the staff provided promptly and were very pleasant.

We were able to walk to the Ferry Building, Alcatraz and Fisherman's Wharf, Union Square from the hotel. The restaurants and lounges in the area were great and we felt extremely safe at all times in the neighbourhood. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

The room was really nice and modern, but smaller. I knew that before i booked it by doing my research so i wasn't bothered by it at all. The room is by no means too small, if you like more space this probably isn't the place for you.

I loved it!!!

As other reviewers note, this is indeed a comfortable hotel with a great location and a friendly, helpful staff. However, they have decided to become "pet-friendly." On our last stay there was a pair of loud yappy dogs in the adjoining room that, through the thin adjoining door, might just as well have been in our room. This obviously prevented any possibility of what the hotel likes to call "wellness." These dogs also woke us at 6:30 AM on the Sunday morning of my last stay. It seems to me the hotel might at least confine dogs to a single floor, or something like that. Unfortunately, and only with regret (since I've stayed at this hotel frequently), I'll be avoiding this hotel from now on.

This waterfront hotel was excellent. Staff was so friendly and couldnt be more helpful in making sure you have what you need. I would like to say that our valet Neil was so friendly and asked daily if he could do anything for us. Also the valet who was there at night (sorry didnt get his name) also asked what we did for the day and if we needed anything also. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to visit San Fran. We walked to the pier for dining and activities and was close. Also the Hop on Hop Off tour picks you up right outside the Hotel. I cannot say enough about this place. I usually do not rate our vacations but I felt this one deserved it.

We stay here several times a year. The staff is always friendly and helpful. If you book a bay view room you won't be disappointed with the stunning views. It's walking distance to the financial district and excellent restaurants. If you're on vacation, it's also close to the Ferry Building (don't miss the Saturday farmer's market) and BART. Definitely recommended.
