“Great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 20, 2014

We loved the location of this hotel, we were there the week before Christmas and looking over the ice skating and the tree was really wonderful.
I would stay here again. Breakfast was a bit of a let down, there was always a huge line (the place was packed) but the actual food was the same every single day. After our 8 nights we were all a bit over it.
The beds, rooms and actual hotel was great. The staff were really friendly and helpful, housekeeping was good.

When we arrived we were upgraded to a room that gave us access to the top floor lounge. In here we had beautiful breakfasts, drinks and night time snacks. Our room was large, clean and modern. Only bad thin was the bath was very shallow and short but considering the stunning view over the city we didn't care. The staff where just wonderful and helpful and always smiling. Just perfectly located next to union square, actually jsut perfect

Room Tip: go for a room with lounge access, well worth it

Good position, in Union Square. Room and bathrom with new furniture, Starbucs right next to the hotel. Free and fast Wifi Connection. Nice view, and a fantastic gym where you can see the whole San Francisco skyline.

Room Tip: Ask for a hihg level floor

Fabulous location, bang in the centre of Union Square but this hotel should be like an Ibis or Best Western. They were extremely unhelpful while checking in, made us feel like they were doing a favour while giving us connecting rooms, gave us a low floor ( which also they said were the last connecting rooms left) even though we booked through our Centurion card. A few room lights weren't working when we came in and after telling the housekeeping about 5 times, did they finally sort it out.
The first night an obviously drunk and stoned person knocked on my childrens room door repetitively, after we opened the door, he tried to enter and we pushed him out. We called the management and they didnt even bother responding. The next day we left our hotel at 9 am and on returning at 6 pm, we saw the rooms were still dirty and had not been cleaned. We are frequent travelers and I have NEVER ever experienced a Grand Hyatt like this one.
There are about 10-15 hotels around the same place. Im sure they offer better service.

This is a large centrally located hotel in Union Square. The thing that sets it apart is the Club Level. Friendliest service I have experienced. Breakfast and appetizers were both good. Best is from 5pm on they have beer, wine, and cocktails with an honor bar (pour your own) service. A really good value if you like a cocktail or two or three! I would definitely stay here again. If you are a walker you can pretty much cover the city from here and work off the great food in SF.

Room Tip: Spend the money and get on the club level.

Oh My Gosh, where do I start -- Beautiful hotel at Union Square -- Everyone working at this hotel were so kind and helpful -- We were on 30th floor room with double beds with a fantastic view of Union Square - Just a short walk to catch public transportation -- great eating places nearby -- I can't comment on hotel food or drink as we did not eat or have a drink there -- Check-In and Check-Out very pleasant - I cannot think of one thing to fault with this hotel -- lobby beautiful -- rooms very nice --

Room Tip: Ask for higher floor

Myself and my Husband stayed here for four days middle of May 2014 and really enjoyed our stay
The location is fabulous just minutes from Union square, and China Town on the other side.
5/8 mins walk from tram terminal.
The rooms are spacious ,clean and quite.
The staff are amazing, so helpful, friendly and our every need was met.
Great small bar with really good bar food and reasonably prices and music most nights.
Happy hour from 5 pm to 7pm on some drinks.

Room Tip: We did request a quite room and this we did get.
