“Nice hotel and excellent location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 15, 2014

Room was great with breathtaking city view. Room service was excellent - most of all we enjoyed the delicious breakfast - the location is so central with Union Square a few steps away -- would definitely choose Hyatt when back in San Francisco

The check-in was fast and friendly, the lobby was modern and tasteful, and the rooms were classic and comfortable. The views from the top floor (all conference rooms) was worth the elevator ride - don't miss the chance! The location was close to shopping, a park and a cable-car stop. The room had electric shades that could be dropped to make the room totally dark or you could leave them open for a view of the city lights. The only thing that was less than excellent was the work-out facility. Stationary machines in the actual work-out room, but to lift weights, stretch or do yoga you were in the hallway where the elevators opened up.

Room Tip: I would not recommend getting a room with a connecting door as it is easy to hear the other person t...

Enjoyed our stay in the hotel which was renovated recently. The room is large, bathroom is nicely renewed with contemporary design. Our room has the view of the Union Square and it's walking distance to lots of shopping, restaurants and parks. It maybe a bit noisy when there are shows at the Union Square but it usually doesn't start until 9:00 am. Their gym is well equipped and is located on the 35th floor of the hotel with a spectacular view of the City and the ocean. Do not miss the chance to see a better view from there. In general, great hotel in the best location. Loved it.

Room Tip: Request a room with the view of the Union Square on the higher floors. You can actually see the oce...

I stayed a week at this hotel on business. Check-in and check-out was very efficient and making use of the online facilities made it even better.

I was a little disappointed by the room (not as good as some Hyatt hotels). There was an ice machine right outside the door that made a noise 24hrs a day so not a great start. The bathroom was good but the shower was poor. The rest of the room was very good - comfy bed, good facilities and tech.

I ate breakfast a couple of times and the first time I had to wait 10mins to be seated and a further 10mins to be served - not great.
I ate dinner twice in the lounge restaurant - the quality and quantity were excellent but the price was very high for hotel food.

In summary, very good hotel, great location, good service and would stay again, but look out for ice machines, don't be in a rush for breakfast and be prepared to pay a lot for the food / drink.

From the moment I walked in, I was appreciated. I'd received Diamond status via a challenge, and had 2 free nights from signing up for the credit card. I was given a room on the 32nd floor, with a floor to ceiling glass door covering the western wall. The views were incredible. I had access to the Grand Club lounge and used it often. The views from the Club equaled or exceeded those from my room. The food at the Club was average, but adequate, and the coffee machine I enjoyed. My room was small, but large enough to contain a sitting area in front of the window. I would have liked to step outside for pictures, but the patio door opened only a few inches. The bathroom is comfortable, and decorated with a modern touch. The staff were welcoming. I would recommend the hotel to anyone.

Room Tip: Club Floor if possible

Check in was flawless, and you can't beat the location of the hotel in the center of the downtown. The valet parking was stiff, $60 per day!
The room facing the Union Square and partial ocean view was fantastic.
The size of the room was adequate, and the bathroom was nice enough.
Didn't use any of restaurant in the hotel, but my wife and I have used the grand executive lounge extensively. Nice view and atmosphere, but strange that we had to pay for the alcoholic beverages!! The breakfast was OK, not great but adequate.
Overall, I would recommend it to anyone who visit SF and want to stay near the center of the downtown since all the department stores are nearby!

Decent hotel with great facilities and proximity to the famous SF Union Square, which is the heart of access to the financial district and shopping haven. Only setback is noise and chatters from second floor bar during the weekends.

Room Tip: For business travelers and sleepers, they might wanna consider higher floors especially during weeke...
