“a True Four Star w a great Location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 28, 2013

I really did not see anything wrong with this Hotel for a four star rating. The rooms were just remodeled. the bar and restaurant had just opened (brand new). THE ONLY CRITICISM i had was its a weird front desk. I personally like a grand entrance with a big impressive front desk, art work and attentive hotel staff behind it. This hotel just a table with a a staff person at it with a computer.
There were about 6 or 8 tables in the lobby and that was it, maybe its the new thing.
I would look on all the discount site for your stay here because you can get it for under $200 a night.
Also if your driving opt for the Self Park option only $36. per night with in and out privileges and its about 1/4 block away. The regular hotel parking is $56.
You are in the heart of San Fran so don.t eat in the hotel. There are plenty and I mean plenty of restaurants with in walking distance.

Room Tip: Just ask for a quite room not facing a street.

Came on a business trip for a convention in the hotel. Location was excellent and the guestrooms well appointed clean and updated with many plugs and outlet beautiful bathrooms.

My room as quiet on the 22nd floor and had a great view.

The service at the hotel was less than ordinary. Being in the hospitality business, I travel extensively and had high expectations for the Grand Hyatt. Check in and check out was less than satisfactory and waiter service at the restaurant was lacking in service. Had eggs for breakfast and no toast was even offered, It was not a great experience and I do not suggest eating in the hotel, it was less than perfect and expensive.

Room Tip: Rooms on Hi floors have beautiful views , recently renovated hotel with great amenities in the rooms...

After a week on business it was nice to have a night in this great hotel right in the heart of they city. Love the location! Close to all the great shopping. The hotel was lovely. The valet greeted us and informed us of an assisted self service parking option across the street which also allows in and out access - much cheaper than most downtown options.
Check in was easy with their open check in space. Room was clean, beautiful, and comfortable. Was a wonderful stay. And Internet was free to boot!

I'm a business traveler who unfortunately spends far too much time in hotels. My review foucses on the Grand Hyatt San Francisco reservations staff. While attempting to make my booking, the staffer seemed very annoyed with the questions I had, regarding the rates for the Regency club room and specific room locations. I also inquired about Rack /Amex / AAA rates. It was strange, since I've never had a bad experience with their folks before. I have stayed at other Grand Hyatt properties with little issue, surprised and a little dissapointed. -Ed

Room Tip: Look at the JW Marriott on Post and Mason. Good location and similar product.

My wife and I stayed at this Grand Hyatt for New Year's Eve and found the reciently completed remodel excellent. The hotel was packed beccause of the holiday but the new "tripod" check in desks made for quick, easy, and fast service. The room remodels also are very guest friendly as well as beautiful with thoughtful additions such as electrical connectors in the side of the night table and communications panel in the side of the television cabinet in living room. I am not sure of the cause, but the new elevator system had a glitch while we were there leaving only two of the cars running. This caused a back up and delay getting up and down from your room. The staff were very gracious in handleing the unhappy patrons and repairs were immediately started. Good customer service is easy under normal circumstances. It's when a problem arises that true colors are shown and I have to say the staff rose to the occation. Good job!

This hotel is perfect in it's design, which is contemporary, sleek & modern. It's location is also perfect, within walking distance to many of the sights, i.e. Chinatown, shopping. The service is excellent, from check-in to doorman to conceriege to waiters. We had a bay view room, & it was perfect & a beautiful sight to wake up to each morning. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Room Tip: Ask for a bay view - simply beautiful.

I was searching for something reasonable to attend a wedding around Union Square and found a $159 deal on an executive suite at the Grand Hyatt.

Considering the room was in fact a 1 bedroom 2 bath suite it was fantastic. I understand the property was recently remodeled and now the rooms have every high tech feature and toy you can dream of from power window shades on. In fact it was almost confusing to control the room at times.

So if you are considering JW or any of the other 5 stars in downtown, then check here too. And for that matter if you can get a deal like I did, then consider it the best deal in town, look no farther.

Happy Traveling,

Uncle Eric
