“Nice Boutique Style Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 14, 2014

Stayed at Galleria in April 2014 for one night and would definitely return to this hotel. The staff are excellent and they offer complimentary wine in the late afternoon (before dinnertime). The rooms are spacious enough and the bed ,bath and toiletries are of good quality. There was a bit of street noise so if you are sensitive to this you may wish to ask for a room away from the street.
We also ate at a very good French restaurant next door -Aquitaine - quite a find.

I was a little nervous about staying in a small hotel that I'd never seen or heard about, but after reading some of the other reviews, I thought I'd be okay-pleasantly surprised!! Amazing location-so central to everything, extremely friendly service, nice amenities, large rooms, and reasonably priced! Amazing for SF, where rooms go for $500 minimum for very mediocre hotels like the Nikko. Galleria Park is much better situated, and possibly the size gives it the edge! It's a bit worn, and could possibly use a redo, but I was very happy with my room and the hotel amenities for the price! Thank you, Trip Advisor, for the heads up, and to Galleria Park, "I'll be back!"

Green Features: Love it-just an added plus to this pleasant boutique!

My husband and I stayed 9-12 May 2014 and had a great time in San Francisco, it is a beautiful place and the people are so helpful and friendly. Very clean hotel, friendly staff, great location, walking distance to shopping, subway, cafe's and Union Square (to name a few). Galleria Shopping Centre is next door (enter through the rooftop garden/walking track on 3rd floor of hotel). Would have preferred a kettle in room instead of coffee maker with only 2 sachets of coffee/milk.
Ladies GHD's - USA is 110v so 240v hair irons did not work, however, for $40 the Dry Bar in Kearny Street will wash, blow dry, straighten hair (cater for walk-ins). Alternatively, try Cowboys and Angels at 207 Powell Street.
Heart breaking to see so many homeless people on the streets, we was told that the church in the Tenderloin area (avoid) feed the homeless (donation to church better way of helping?)
What we did with our 4 day break:
Toured Alcatraz - good value, fantastic audio tour, great photographs (booked prior)
48 hour Big Bus Tour - highly recommend, great views on open top bus, windy, cold, long
queues at toilets before going over the bridge (up to 15 min wait), Sausalito is pretty
Walked over Golden Gate Bridge - leisurely walk took approximately 1 hour, windy, fab views
Macy's in Union Square - delicious food and cheesecake, inexpensive, Friday at 11am (5 min
wait), Sat and Sun at 5pm (1hr 15 min wait). Got very hot outside in the sun.
Hard Rock Café, Fisherman's Wharf - fish and chips delicious
Fisherman's Wharf - stroll past shops and cafes to watch the sea lions at Pier 39 for FREE
Cable cars - limited number of people allowed on at each stop, worth the experience, hard to
take photographs from inside the cable car
Taxi from outside airport to hotel Galleria $50 plus tip
Street car the hotel ordered to the airport $60 plus tip (ask for a taxi and not a street car)

Room Tip: we had an inside, 7th floor room, and apart from being woken by a woman screaming in the early hours...

Galleria Park hotel is located at 191 Sutter street close to everything in SF. We paid USD 150 at hotwire for 3.5 stars and the hotel is outstanding to this price -large and good rooms, excellent cleaning and excellent reception services and if you want a complementary wine serving in the reception at 5.30 pm. We have before this been choosing hotels at the double price closely at same service level. Murphys bar offer close by SFs best burger and beer at a very reasonable price. If you want good and inexpensive dinners in SF go to the castro district- far- but you save it in quality&price

Room Tip: Choose a room inwards to the galleria - no noise

Stayed here with friends for my birthday tour! .. had let the hotel know it was my birthday coming up and we put into a gorgeous boutique room with two huge beds, small bathroom but had everything needed and lovely products.

When we got to the room, we were met with a lovely personalised letter on the bed which was signed by the Managing Director which was really touching .. there were also gifts of chocolate, wine, fruit from the local Farmer's Market and some tour vouchers - absolutely amazing, have never had such personal contact.

The hotel was in a great location, not far from Union Square and transport by tram down to Fisherman's Wharf. We loved the happy wine hour every evening, it was nice to mingle with other guests in the lobby and enjoy a lovely chilled glass of wine before heading out for the evening. We also took advantage of the tea and coffee which was put on the mezzanine each morning, even though there were coffee making facilities in the room. There was also a lovely coffee shop next door and a Starbucks on every corner. China town was just up the road.

We made use of the small running track on one of the roof terraces - and our friends used the gym.

.. the only downside (and this isn't the hotels fault) was that we booked the shuttle to the airport on our last day and the guy who took us was so rude, we also had far too many people crammed into the bus and it felt quite dangerous with cases piled high in the back which threatened to come over the top onto us if he broke suddenly, we ended up hanging onto the cases as he was driving quite erratically.

I would definitely love to return to this hotel and would highly recommend. All the reception staff were so helpful and polite and friendly.

Room Tip: We were overlooking the main street, but it wasn't noisy at all. Our friends overlooked the cou...

We appreciate your review of your recent visit to The Galleria Park Hotel, San Francisco. I am delighted to hear that you enjoyed our welcone amenities to celebrate your birthday and more importantly, the service that our team members provided.

I have alerted our bell captain to report the driver of the shuttle of the company that we used to take you to the airport. I'm sorry to hear that it affected your visit.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts on your overall experience, and I am very glad to hear that we made your birthday memorable.

Sincerely,

I booked this hotel through hotwire for a very affordable price and was pleasantly surprised about what we got. The hotel is in an older building, but decorated very modern, while preserving some of the original charm of the old building (wood moldings, marble stairs, etc.). The rooms are small, but sufficient, we had a king size bed which was nice. I just wished the bathroom had been a little larger. It was definitely a one person bathroom.

Very nice finishes in the bathroom (walk in shower with glass door, nice modern tile, glass wall tile). Our room was on the 8th floor and facing the courtyard, so it was very quiet, even though the hotel is on the corner of two pretty busy streets.

Staff was always very friendly and helpful and the hotel is located conveniently close to Union Square, Market street and all kinds of public transportation.

They do not have their own shuttle to the airport, but offer this service through a 3rd party which charges $34 for two people, which is OK.

Room Tip: ask for a room on the top floor that is facing the courtyard, not the street

We spent 4 nights before a cruise at this hotel. Lobby very pretty and cozy. The wine hours were great. Met interesting people and drank good wine. Our room was small but we made it work. Bed comfy. Bathroom very modern but could have used a shelf. The staff top notch. Coffee in the morning was nice and delicious. The area was very good. Lots of interesting restaurants on Belden Place which was right around the corner. Would stay here again.

Room Tip: Although we had a view of an office building our room was quiet.
