“Beautiful hotel. Friendly and helpfull staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 14, 2012

We stayed 4 nights at the Galleria Park and enjoyed it very much. Great location, very nice and clean rooms and the staff was friendly and helpfull. If we will visit San Francisco again, we will definitely choose this hotel again.

We went to San Fran for a work event; this was the hotel provided to us. I immediately jumped on Trip Advisor to have a look at it, so I wasn't surprised.
Since this hotel is in an older building, the rooms are quite small but very comfortable. The sheets were super soft and the chairs were easy to snuggle up in. I found the bathroom suprisingly roomy for the size of the room, and had no problem fitting in under the shower head (and I'm almost 6 feet tall). We had a room facing the street and it was definitely noisy - a courtyard room would have been much quieter.
The free wine hour was much appreciated and the wine was, in my opinion, quite nice, but I am no expert on wines.
There was a free architectual tour we went on that started at the hotel - it was very informative and we enjoyed it very much.
All in all, it was very cute, very fun, very pretty and like I said, the bed was super comfy and the sheets were very soft. We really enjoyed our stay here.

Room Tip: Get a room facing the courtyard to avoid traffic noise

Great boutique hotel with very friendly, professional staff. Location was perfect for my business needs in the Financial District AND close to great restaurants and shopping. Great little place a few doors down (Bread and Cocoa) to grab breakfast.

Room Tip: Inside rooms are quieter for sure!

We stayed here twice in November (made the latter reservation during our first stay since we were very happy with everything). Very fresh hotel with very welcoming staff. Even the less expensive rooms are nice-sized considering the location and that they are in a historical building. The bathrooms weren't super new but very clean with quite nice shampoos, conditioners, lotions etc. The rooms have efficient heating and air-conditioning systems.

Location is excellent as well: 5 min walk to Union square and Chinatown; 3 min walk to metro and Bart stations (metro will take you also to Caltrain station in 15 mins). About 10 min walk to Moscone conference center. In addition, F tram takes you from Castro to Embarcadero to Fisherman's Wharf. California cable car (10 min walk) is less crowded that the two other lines. A bit more central location would be in the Union square but this is great as well, and there are some restaurants around the hotel, nice cafe next to the main entrance and some bars like Rickhouse serving excellent drinks.

I did not notice any noise from the ongoing facelift in the hotel. Rooms facing the street in the higher floors did not get much street noise, but in the lower floors you can hear that you're in a city. I was still very happy with the street view rooms we got.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the street in the higher floors did not get much street noise, but in the lower floors...

- Small attractive hotel, but what really makes this hotel is the location. The location is excellent!! A short walk takes you to Union Square or Chinatown or to the financial district.
- The rooms are small but adequate. We upgraded to a King size bed for an extra $10 per night. The bed is very comfortable, although we didn't like the pillows but no biggie. The bathrooms could use an upgrade and we could sometimes hear the neighbors when they are busy in the bathroom next door. We also opted for a courtyard room so as not to hear any street noise/traffic and we slept very well.
- The reception staff and concierge are extremely helpful.
- The wine tasting in the evenings is a nice touch.

All in all, we would stay here again.

We loved the Galleria Park Hotel so much last time, that we stayed here again last weekend (for after Thanksgiving shopping and to see Lion King). The hotel is both very clean, and beautiful. Not just the lobby, but the rooms and even the hallways. I've seen hotel remodels where they paint, put up new wallpaper and carpet, and consider it done. This hotel looks like an artist designed it.

The location is great for Union Square. It's one or two blocks away. Close enough to walk there in a few minutes, but at night it's nice to get away from the traffic and crowds.

The front desk staff go out of their way to accommodate guests. More than just professional, they are genuinely friendly and helpful.

I also find the Galleria Park to be a bit of a bargain price-wise compared to other Union Square hotels.

Room Tip: For light sleepers that need total silence, request a room facing the interior. I'm a very ligh...
