I have stayed at several hotels in SF, including others in the Joie de Vivre group. This hotel is more modest - an older property which was spruced up with nice linens, paint, large flat screens, and high-end toiletries. That being said, the walls are thick and the interior rooms are very quiet, affording excellent night sleep. The gym is tiny (essentially one of the smaller guestrooms with one eliptical, one stationary bike, and one treadmill. Staff are very nice. Extremely convenient to BART, Muni and walking through Union Square and to Ferry Building.
