“Galleria Park Hotel - a piece of quiet in the fuss”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 24, 2011

I stayed at Galleria Park Hotel for 4 nights during October of 2011. I had a GREAT time there for several reasons:
The rooms - the rooms are very clean, fairly large and the beds are very comfortable. The amenities in the bathroom are superb, and the bathroom itself is very good and clean.
The location - the location is very good. You go down to the street, and you see plenty of restaurants, bars and other places to hang out. The Union Square is just 3 minutes walk, as well as other tourist attractions and transportation (Muni, Bart etc.)
The Staff - This hotel probably has the best staff I have personally seen in my entire trip. They treat you as if you were a customer who got the most expensive suite in the hotel and this is wonderful. They helped me a great deal when I needed them and they were very nice. The valet guys are also very nice and they get your car ready up ahead if you give them a call.
Moreover, this hotel offers wine tasting every day between 4pm to 6 pm if I'm not mistaken. This is a very nice event and you get to know nice people.
At the bottom line, I will surely pay this hotel another visit when I'm in town and will definitely recommend it to everyone who appreciate a good smile first thing in the morning.
Thank you Galleria Park Hotel

Room Tip: Street view rooms on the higher floors have nice view and not at all noisy.

Dear Idan H., thank you for pointing out the positive experience with our staff. As the general manager of the hotel, I am extremely proud of our employees. In fact, the Galleria Park Hotel will be given the best Guest Services award by the Califoria Hotel & Lodging Association this year.

We hope thay you choose us again the next time you come and visit San Francisco.

This place is brilliant! It’s very central, the rooms are fairly large, very clean and the staff are extremely helpful.

The hotel isn’t too large, it has a small gym and free wi-fi in the rooms. Complementary coffee is served every morning, and wine on an evening.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in SF.

Room Tip: Street side rooms can be noisy.

Spent a great deal of time before our trip to SF in Sept 2011 researching hotels to stay at in the city. We were only in the city for 2 nights for a quick look at all the tourist sites. After much searching we eventually settled on the Galleria Park. The location is excellent - close to the BART to get in from the airport, right next to Union Square, cable car stops couple of blocks down the road. I was slightly concerned about the noise given it is a city hotel and I am a particularly light sleeper. We had a room facing Sutter Street and we didn't find the noise to be an issue at all. As the hotel is slightly in the financial district it is quieter at night than other locations nearer to the bars and restaurants of union square.

The hotel itself is great - it is in an older building but has been decorated with a modern twist whilst still maintaining its character. We felt this style of hotel is far nicer than the modern block chain hotels that feel somewhat soul-less! The staff were very pleasant and friendly and the free wine hour a real bonus (nice quality Californian wines).

The room itself was a good size for a city hotel. Very comfortable bed, windows that open, flat screen tv. The bathroom was by no means that biggest in the world but for an American city hotel it was very nice. Huge big shower and again nice and modern.

This was the cheapest and lowest star rated hotel we stayed at during our trip, but we had absolutely no complaints and would not hesitate in returning. No its not a 5* hotel but for a modern, comfortable and quiet hotel to use as a base to explore the city, its perfect!

P.S recommend Lori's Diner for breakfast, and Barbacco for dinner - both within walking distance.

I was joining the Oracle OpenWorld conference and chose to stay at Galleria Park Hotel. And I liked it. Very nice and helpful staff together with clean, comfortable rooms (and a comfortable bed!) made my stay pleasant. Breakfast wasn't included but there were several places serving breakfast around the corner. Unfortunately the prices were significantly higher than usual due to the conference week but I cannot blame GP for it, since all hotels are doing the same. On the other hand is the location just 8 min walking distance from Moscone Center. And it's also close to BART. To summarize: I definitively recommend this hotel!

Room Tip: Rooms on the higher floors have less noise from the street.

We were in SF for the Nike Women's Marathon and wanted to stay near union square. The Galleria offered the best value for the location. Once there, we were pleasantly surprised. The building is wonderful, the service was excellent and the location was perfect. Close enough to all the action but far enough from all the noise. They even accommodated for us with an early checkin and late check-out because of the race. Overall it was a great experience!

Everything was clean, staff was friendly and everything looked exactly as we expected from photos. Only minor complaint is that it took a long time for the bellman to handle our bags twice. Other than that I give it 5 stars.

The Galleria Park is a small hotel between the Financial district and the Union Square areas. It's also around the block from Chinatown and the 'French' block. Great location that's not dead at night but also isn't noisy. The rooms are small but I've seen a lot worse in SF and unlike some places, the bathroom doesn't require contortions to enter and use. Place was quite clean also. My room didn't have a view but it still got plenty of light. Good choice for the price.
