“great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2014

When I booked this place I thought "its kind of far from downtown" but to my surprise it was a great location. The rooms were clean, staff very helpful, breakfast good. The lady at the desk was extremely helpful when our ride to the airport was late, she made a special call and all was taken care of. The bus station is a couple minutes walk and we were minutes from Fisherman's Wharf. Not far from the hotel were some great restaurants. Would stay again.

Rooms are clean, quiet and quite large. The complementary breakfast was excellent and there were lots of options. The room had a safe but no microwave or fridge. The location of this hotel is excellent. It is only a short drive to many attractions. Walk out the front door and you can walk to the waterfront, Fisherman's Wharf or Russian Hill.

My only complaint is that parking is an extra charge of $26 a night. Also be advised that the elevator does not go to the parking garage so be sure to drop you luggage off at the front door or you will be lugging it up multiple flights of stairs to get to the lobby.

We stayed here last week for three nights. Beds were very comfortable. The breakfast was very good though wish these hotels would have real brown bread. Plenty of room for everyone to sit. The hotel is a ten minute walk downhill to the Fisherman's Wharf and is close to the bus to Chinatown/Union Square. Front desk staff were pleasant and helpful. I would recommend this hotel.

This was the second time I had visited this hotel and once more found it very good - I love the location as it is a quick walk to the water front and within easy reach of a bus stop for both the city buses and also the hop-on-hop-off bus.

The staff as always were great, the breakfast was good and plentiful.

All in all highly recommended

My family and I stayed here last night, we stayed in their Accessible one bedroom suite and it was AMAZING! Very spacious and lives up to it's name and description. Only problem/snag....we came back to the hotel after they lock the two entrance doors and to get in need to be buzzed in. Great idea and makes me feel very safe staying here....also they have a slightly lax guard. I say lax, because either he was just getting back from break as coincidently we were getting to the power-wheelchair accessible door or this hotel doesn't know laws and use common sense to be blunt.
The door with the intercom and I think camera is the door that has stairs leading up to it. The door that has in stairs and is wheelchair accessible gets locked after a certain time and a sign placed on it to go to the other door. Luckily, my wife could walk to the other door to be able to get in and open the door I can use with my walker-transporter. The hotel staff and most especially the "security guard" and I use that loosely was obvious to what was happening.
At any rate, we were able to safely and securely get into the hotel and our room for the night. When checking out this morning, my wife let the front desk know again to hopefully have a few more people report incident to Management.....before a dangerous situation occurs.
But, again overall great location and amenities.

Room Tip: Read description and reviews.

My mom and I spent two horrible nights at this hotel.

The receptionist at the help desk was VERY VERY rude to us when we arrived first night. We were extremely tired and coming straight ahead from the airport and instead of getting some cheerful faces we got shocked with this brown lady at the night shift. Every time we ask a question about attractions in the city she would stare at us and answer the question in a very low tune; when we asked her to kindly repeat what she was saying she would give us another stare!!!!
The 2nd night a Philipino Help desk was very courteous and cheerful and replaced our room with a better one; we loved our night that day.

Generally, the location is a big PLUS here. Pretty much close to everything. 20 mins from downtown. Breakfast is just BAD EXPIRED STUFF especially yogurts. Bedding were a nightmare for reals despite the renovated rooms. Scratches on walls here and there and some other funny stuff..

Very Overrated!!!!!!!
Don't stay here unless you're forced to..

I'm very sorry to hear that your stay was not up to your expectations the first night, however it was encouraging that you noted you enjoyed the rest of your stay. I will personally look into the front desk staff attitude at the desk. Thank you for your comments and we hope that the next time you visit the city you would give us another chance.

This was a really great hotel experience for our family. Everyone enjoyed the stay. Our rooms were in fantastic bay view and Golden Gate view locations. The hot and cold breakfast was plentiful and delish. The decor was clean, modern, and the room had everything we needed ; writing table, chair, plenty of super comfortable pillows and an immaculate bathroom. The staff was very accommodating and knowledgeable. A super subway sandwich store is located right across the street.

There were only two down-sides in my opinion : 1) No room light switch when you walk into the room ...you have to hold the door open so you can see inside, then walk in the room and fumble around to turn on a light on the desk while its kinda dark and 2) the underground parking layout is a design failure. Unless you have a SmartCar, negotiating the tight turns in there is challenging ; the charge is $ 26 for parking. But having said that, we plan on staying here again. Did I mention its close to the piers and Fisherman's Wharf ?

Room Tip: Get the highest room available.....the better view is worth it. Or ask for a room with a view of the...
