“The Only Place to Stay down at Fisherman's Wharf”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2013

Our holiday was elevated to a whole different level because of this hotel. I've been to San Francisco before & stayed at another place, it was nice enough, clean but Tuscan Inn is "Special" in so many ways.

The wine reception every night at 5pm got us chatting other guests. I've never had a maintenance man from a hotel come up to me & say "Hi, where are you folks from"....he was so nice. Met him on & off during our week there & he always stopped to say hello, were we having a nice time....wow, wow, wow.

Front desk went beyond to help us, others. Cleaning staff just as friendly, even at the other end of the hall calling out "Good morning" as we walked down the hall.

It just had a wonderful feeling about it & I for one would go back in a blink of an eye if I could.

Besides the location is awesome for groceries, tours, the Bay, transit.....

Room Tip: Rooms that face the inner courtyard are quieter. We shared a King bed, it was so comfortable. The...

We arrived and were allocated an ok room but there is no bar after 9pm which is a bit odd.
Parking is expensive and there is little choice
At 9.45pm in the lobby area by the fire we had to ask one of the cleaners to turn off the vacuum cleaner before he tried to vacuum round our feet!!!
Strange that he wouldn't know that we didn't welcome the loud noise or intrusion
The concierge woman was lovely but hopeless - we found out more on our iPads in 5 minutes than talking to her for 30

We spent a week in the bay area and booked our stay at the Tuscan Inn due to the great reviews previously posted on Trip Advisor. They were spot on!!! The staff was always very pleasant and helpful. The rooms, although a little small by American standards, were adaquately sized and immaculately clean. We had an inside room over looking the courtyard and were able to sleep with the window open without street noise. Pescatore's, the restaurant that's affiliated with the hotel was great for breakfast and there dinners were up there with great Italian food. The Tuscan Inn will be our place to stay for all subsequent visits to San Francisco.

Booked here for 3 nights in May, before the season really got going and had a fantastic stay. Our room was ideal, the hotel facilities are excellent, staff are very helpful and we couldn't fault our stay here.

Included in the price is a free continental breakfast, which my wife really enjoyed every morning, including, a croissant, toast and a bowl of fresh fruit salad. If you don't fancy this, or like me are on a gluten free diet, then you can order anything else from the hotel's restaurant breakfast list for half the price!! I had bacon, scrambled eggs and because I couldn't eat the toast, they substituted a bowl of fresh fruit salad instead, all cooked well and totally delicious. A great start to each day.

The hotel is two blocks away from Fisherman's Wharf and it's so easy to walk round the whole area. We loved going for a stroll and it's quick and easy to pick up the Cable cars, either Powell-Mason or Powell-Hyde from near here.

Top tips when here, there are plenty of great restaurants within 10 mins stroll, we ate at Pier 39 in the Sports Bar (great steaks) and also an Italian down near the Aquatic Park and Ghirardelli Square.

And other than Alcatraz (of course) our top tip for San Francisco is a guide lead tour of the city from City Segway. We had a 3 hour tour and it was one of the best things we've ever done! They leave from down in Fisherman's Wharf and it gives you such a great insight into the city and where everything is.

Very first trip to San Francisco... and California for that matter. We chose the Tuscan Inn for its closeness to Fisherman's Wharf. We spent five nights in may.

We asked at the check-in for a quiet spot and we got it. On the first floor (the hotel only has 3), nearby a small opening on the corner. Our window had a view of mostly brick walls, however with no view of the street, we had no noise either, so we slept very well. Our king bed was perfect.

The room had everything we expect from this type of hotel. Wi-Fi worked quite well, although we had to register on the web-browser for each session. It was very clean and housekeeping did a great daily freshing-up. My only beef would be that the room is small (not New York small, but small anyway). A full window-wall succeeds in giving an illusion of depth.

No breakfast included at this Best Western, however there is a complimentary wine reception between 5:00 and 6:00 pm in the lobby. There is a restaurant on site, but we rather went out exploring elsewhere.

So this hotel is very well taken care of and staff are friendly and helpful. Only a couple of blocks to Fisherman's Wharf, and a short walk to the cable-car stop that will bring you downtown, the Tuscan Inn is an ideal base to discover San Francisco. Don't forget to bring a jacket!

We stayed here for 3 nights during the middle of May, have to say the location was spot on and the hotel was lovely. Very comfortable room and very nice staff, they really cared that you were having a good time, the complimentary afternoon wine hour was a very nice touch.

Fisherman's wharf was very nice and it was a great base to explore the rest of San Fran, the bus tours and Alcatraz tours are very close.

Will be back !

The Tuscan Inn was very clean, comfortable and in a great location. Walking distance to all the Fisherman's Wharf sites, the cable cars, street cars, Safeway store was right down the block, and Pescatore Cafe was in the hotel. The hotel staff was very helpful in answering any questions we had, hailing a cab etc. Jun, a member of the bell staff, was extremely helpful. We checked out in the morning, but did not leave SF until later in the afternoon. Jun put our luggage into storage and assured us he would take care of notifying Airport Express to take us to the airport in the afternoon. We left to tour Chinatown, had lunch and returned. Jun gave us our luggage and Airport Express was right on time. Mia was also very helpful. We had some trouble printing our boarding passes, and she took the time to print them from her computer. It was a great place to stay.
