Ordinary hotel which worth the money.
Great location.
You can walk to Pier 39.
You can walk to the cable car stop.
You can walk to Pier 33.
Yes, the rooms are flawed, but the friendly staff makes up for it.

I would recommend this hotel to other travelers. I found the rooms clean, neat, and well cared for. The bed was comfy as were the pillows and duvet. It was my first overnight trip in SF although I have had plenty of day trips there. After walking all day, it was a nice place to come home to. Very good value for the money paid. I would definitely come back.

The concierge was also very helpful and kind.

The hotel is two blocks from Fisherman's wharf and a very healthy walk to the Ferry building. As you walk along the bay to the Ferry building, there are nice views of Coit Tower with the city in the background. Other sites in the city were easily walkable or cab-able from the hotel. Since we had a small child with us, we would take a cab to the farthest point of our daily destination then walk back toward the hotel throughout the day. It worked well for us.

The only downside to my experience was that I found the room a bit chilly on arrival and it took quite a long time to heat up. Normally I don't mind a cooler room, but after being outside all day, it would have been nice to warm up more quickly.

Room Tip: My room faced an apartment buidling with slice of street view. Nothing special, but I was not there...

I was surprised when I stayed here, because I was not expecting this from a hotel that has Best Western in its name. I was only here for a couple days when I was working the last World Series the rooms are clean and service is great.

A first class experience with very reasonable prices! The staff were very friendly and made us feel like first class folk, much like it used to be in the old movies way back when.

I've stayed at the Ritz Carlton Hotel spending Big bucks, where I didn't get any of the treatment I received at the Tuscon. From opening doors, coming and going and treating my pet Chihuahua "Tiki" with love and treats by Hugo, the concierge, made our trip even more memorable.

The other nice thing that was unique was the wine reception they offered in the hotel living room free of charge between 5 and 6. Where can you go for free wine or anything for that matter, especially at Fishermans Wharf?

The parking charge was $44 plus tax, however we were not charged for our pet.

So all in all, good value.. We will definitely stay at the Tucson again.

Room Tip: Our room was close to the lobby which was fine as it made it nice and convenient. We were facing the...

The hotel is nothing spectacular, but the location is really great, very close to the Fisherman's Wharf and Pier 39. The fact that they charge so much for parking, in such a bad area for parking, makes it a not-too-great value.

Thanks for staying with us and for taking the time to share your comments. We often offer reservation packages which include parking; this might be a great option for your next visit. Parking in and around the wharf can be expensive and we recommend not bringing a car if not absolutely necessary, SF has great public transportation. We appreciate the top notch ratings for service, cleanliness, sleep quality and location.

As first time visitors to San Francisco we chose the Tuscan Inn Best Western following the recommendations of other reviewers and our need to be close to Fisherman’s Wharf. From the time that we arrived until we left, we knew that we had made the right decision. We had requested an interior room and had mentioned in the reservations that it was our 25th wedding anniversary. They honored our request for an interior room and wished us happy anniversary upon our arrival. Then later they surprised us with bubbly to celebrate our milestone. The staff was friendly and the room was clean. It wasn't a large room but it was adequate. We enjoyed the wine reception on one evening of our stay. We met some very fascinating couples and had a great time. We would certainly consider staying here again.

Room Tip: Interior room facing the courtyard
