If you plan to walk from Pier 39 to board this fleet, prepare to spend a good 15 minutes. I expected this place to be less crowded compared to similar fleet service next to Pier 39 but I was wrong. The line can get long because many tourist groups use this fleet. My guess is because the parking for big tour bus is more available here and they may get a better discount given the location is away from Pier 39.
An audio tour was included in the ticket. The contents were pretty good but the equipment was old. We enjoyed the scenic view very much. It cruised under the Golden Gate Bridge and closely past by the Alcatraz Island for about one hour round trip. Make sure to bring a wind blocker with hood. It gets really cold and windy if you stay outside.
The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because the boarding was delayed and the fleet didn’t depart until 20 minutes later. If you plan to be somewhere after this, it is better to have a flexible schedule.
