“Loved it! Would be delighted to stay here again!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 30, 2013

I am a lover of the Starwood brand anyway so I found this to be an excellent hotel with modern facilities and generous amenities..
On the other hand though, They did mess up our bill and it took them a long time to issue a refund which was quite annoying.
Nice location but depends on what you're going to do because San Francisco is a very big city.
The blinds/shades were the coolest thing in the room and so you can make it quite dark however, The rollaway best are not good at all. ... So if you're in a group it may not be a very comfortable sleep on one of those beds
Otherwise, a nice luxurious hotel with good responsive staff....slight issues but can be easily overcome.
no view from the lower floors :(

It was that good, yes. Of course I stayed here returning from a mission trip in the 3rd world, but what an amazing hotel! I previously stayed in B & B's or at adjacent W hotel, and the W does not even come close to what this hotel offers for only a little more $. Located in SOMA, the hotel is across from the Moscone center next to the museum of modern art. Market and mission are a short walk away; the location is perfect.

If St regis is the ultra luxury line for star wood hotels, this one in San Fran does it with a contemporary twist, like 5 stars meeting a modern art museum. My favorite thing about the hotel: the incredible luxury & service and you can't take your eyes off your surroundings. I had the standard room (superior) which was huge with high ceilings. The room is very open; the main/bedroom connects to the bathroom via an open window with shutter doors above a soaking tub. Glass enclosed toilet and shower; beware, while the shower is gorgeous, the water pressure can knock you down! Great wood paneling on the walls covering the closet with a large flat screen
TV.
The fitness center is excellent: modern lifefitness equipment. The pool & spa are equally impressive. Restaurants: I only ate at the bar which was excellent....food and drink. Ame and Vitrine have had good reviews but reservations may be required. Room service was prompt but not cheap
PRO's : modern, beautiful, luxurious, excellent service
CON's : none, other than all the other hotels will be compared to this one

Room Tip: superior room was more than large enough

We used to stay at the W next door for basically the same price when we came into town for conventions at the Moscone Center. Last year we tried the St Regis and had a wonderful experience....so we came back again for 3 nights last month. Such a better quality property than the W (but I do miss the outdoor pool and hot tub there).

LOVE it here. Got a great conference rate and was initially not given our Starwood Member status upgrade. We checked in and once things got corrected, they changed us to a room on the top floor. Great view. Good speed internet connection. Staff are polite and helpful. Great food in walking distance (the cafe across the street is amazing with yummy coffee...I think it is called The Grove? but I could be wrong).

The bar area is warm and inviting. It gets busy early evening and then quiets down. Nice to work out of in the mornings. Room service was quick and yummy. Did not eat IN any of the restaurants this time. Good size gym with modern equipment. Indoor pool, but NO hot tub (I guess they have them in the spa....but it's not open super late).

Comfortable size room with nice bed linen. Large bathtub and separate shower. No chocolate with turn down service (haha...now I'm just getting greedy)...but seriously, this place is perfect. Might night be the best choice for people coming to tour San Fran for the first time, but for conferences and business downtown, it just can't be beat.

Room Tip: Top floor has a nice view. Corner rooms are great!!

Expensive hotel right across from the Moscone Center. Great location with lot of food options nearby and walking distance to the trolley. San Francisco 's MOMA also next door. Rooms are well appointed with great skyline view. Common ares are nice but small. Food at both in hotel venues is very good. The best part of this hotel is the amazing and very responsive staff. Would have given this higher rating but limited common areas outside of the bar and the fact this an in city business hotel sorta of keep its ceiling lower. Note great indoor pool is nice but not a lot of things for young kids here, There is a great park across the street for much younger kids at the Moscone Center. The staff was very nice to my 11 year old son who enjoyed his stay here.

I would stay here again , but likely would come here if coming alone or as a couple.

After our previous hotel let us down (a screw up with the booking - we got the wrong type of room) we moved over the to St Regis. Facilities are top notch as you'd expect at the price - rooms are well appointed, most impressive however is the consistently good level of service.

Like at a michelin starred restaurant, the staff at every level seem to be committed and proud to work here - every request we had was fulfilled with grace and class and when we had a slight misunderstanding over a booking, they took total responsibility for making it right.

Now officially my favourite hotel in San Fran.

Stayed here for just one night but the location in Downtown SF is very convenient to everything. The check in process was easy. Had just a standard room but the layout is really good and the rooms are beautiful. The bathroom has a big soaking tub in the middle of it that can open or be closed off from the rest of the room. The desk and work area was extremely well equipped with everything you needed in just the right place. The bed was extremely comfortable with turndown service and reading light and everything you can need.

This is not the least expensive hotel in the city but if you are looking for a sure thing, this is a great choice.

The only minor complaint I had is the noise from the hallway was quite loud. There wasn't much of it but anytime someone passed by the room or spoke in the hallway it was very easily heard from the bed.

Room Tip: Highest Floor possible, end of the hallway for more quiet.

I stayed at the St-Regis for two weeks and had a fantastic time. First of all, the hotel is perfectly situated in the heart of San Francisco. The rooms are beautiful. I ended up with a room on the 20th floor with incredible views of the city. I loved having the bathtub right in the middle of the room ( you can close the doors for privacy), and was able to look at the whole city while making myself clean.
The service is discreet and impeccable. The turn down service is a delight. The decor is very zen and calming. You cannot go wrong with this hotel.
