“Great ice cream and history”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 24, 2013 via mobile

We had a tasty spicy sundae. Huge size was enough for 4 to share. Loved seeing the chocolate making equipment and interpretive info.

“Great Hot Fudge Sundaes”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 20, 2013

This is a must visit for us, went both days we were in SF for hot fudge sundaes. Excellent food and service. Try the mint intense sundae with dark chocolate, won't be disappointed. Look for coupons that take $1 off price.

“Save money and make your creation!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 13, 2013

The ice cream is good, the hot fudge is wonderful. Here is the trick - - we ordered one hot fudge sundae off of the menu and it cost $8.95 and we created a sundae with one scoop ice cream, hot fudge and whipped cream and the cost was $4.50. The size was EXACTLY the same - the only difference was that the $8.95 sundae had nuts sprinkled on the top. The portions are so large that there really isn't a chance of finishing one of the desserts by yourself.

This is a San Francisco staple. I tried it on the last day of my trip and had a great time. Very good food, nice staff.

“If you love chocolates!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 11, 2013

Ghirardelli Square is a landmark in the Fisherman's Wharf area of San Francisco. If you love chocolates/ice creams then it is a must visit place for you. The entire place smells of choloate. To order you have to wait in a queue as this palce is really crowded. We had to wait to find ourselves a seat. You could also see the chocolate syrup manufacturing process. You could buy chocolates for cheaper than in any retail stores. The nearby beach on the beach street is great too. GGB, alcatraz and harbored ships and cruises can be seen. You can take a stroll on the beach. Mind you this is a much smaller beach.
To reach Ghirardelli you could either board a tram or a bus other than your own tranportation. There is ample street parallel parking available but I would recoomed public transportation as it is hassle free and good on wallet, time and for environment.
