“Good food ”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 7, 2013

Ate here twice in November 2013. The place is cheap, good quality sushi.

First visit was in the evening and everything was great.

Second visit was at lunchtime and the service was terrible in every respect. They need to double the staff numbers and put someone in charge.

“Cool setting...ok sushi”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 12, 2013 via mobile

Very cool sushi bar with a moat and boats surrounding the main bar in the center. The boats carry the sushi around the bar and you can take whatever looks good. The color/pattern on the plate indicates the price, which were very reasonable ( ranging from $1.95 to $6 or so). There are also booths on the outside you can sit at, but the bar is kind of the star attraction for this place. Definitely a place you could eat at alone. They provide free green tea and you can order from the menu if the boats don't look appealing. The sushi is average at best, but not a bad place for a quick bite.

“The Sushi Boat Rocks!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 27, 2013

I got a recommendation from a friend to try the Sushi Boat. I am happy I listened. The sushi was decent, and it was reasonably priced. The whole boat thing was neat too. But the selection of sushi was great. Lots of cool rolls and regular sushi items. Its a good spot, I will go there again.

“There are better Sushi restaurants!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 21, 2013 via mobile

You will find this restaurant in a dingy basement in the theatre district of San Francisco. The place has seen better days.... And so has the staff. They walk through the motions of service.... Caring less about the customer.

The food was average. It is overpriced for what you receive. My sashimi was at least fresh but the Miso soup was like water. I had thought of ordering a sushi roll but my bill came before i had a chance. It is just as well... It was time to go.

There are a few other Sushi restaurants a block awsy... Go there.

“Disappointed in Service and Sushi”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 21, 2013 via mobile

Was very excited about eating here but soon was disappointed. We were welcomed quickly and got green tea that was excellent. Then started with a few trays off the cute boats floating around with sushi on them. It was just ok. Once we selected a couple we wanted something fresher and was asked for help taking an order but it was very very slow in coming. At least 15 minutes. It was very hot and we became annoyed. We had enough and just asked for the check. We received it in a couple more minutes but as we went to the register to pay we waited another 5 minutes as the lady at the register kept taking bills from the servers even when I was asking and handing the bill to them. They just acted like they didn't understand and would not respond to me.?? I see a lot of potential here. Much of the food I saw looked great. :(
