“Two great nights out”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 13, 2012

Had the best nights out here, great live local music, dancing, a few beers, no one has an attitude, just good fun

“A must see in San Francisco”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2012 via mobile

First visited 10 years ago and returned for the second time last night with friends. Privileged to see Ron Hacker (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ol5Mj3vAuWw&feature=youtube_gdata_player) and so glad I went back. $5 cover makes this the best value night out in town. Outstanding venue with true atmosphere :)

“Hidden Gem with diversity- worth the trip!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 1, 2012

We loved it here & found it on Trip Advisor (Thank you!). It is a true dive that only accepts cash. The drinks are stiff & it is a basic bar. The entertainment was awesome & we just had a blast listening, people watching & dancing. There is a charm to this place that is interesting because of the huge mix of people here. If you are looking for a place to drink, enjoy great music & just take a break from life without any fanciness (none here!), this is a great place to stop in!

“BEST BLUES BAR IN SAN FRANCISCO”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 31, 2012

Hands down, my favorite bar. Sure, by day it's a loser bar. And it does smell faintly of urine and bleach. But at night it's a rockin' blues joint, with cheap drinks, a friendly and eclectic (to put it mildly) crowd, and the best live blues this side of Memphis. Ron Hacker on a Saturday night has to be seen to be believed ! AND, it's been in business at the same location for 150 years ! !

“Blues... What else”

If you want to feel the Blues this is your place. NOTHING fancy here, but just plain old blues.
