“Great little sushi bar”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2014

Found this on TripAdvisor while waiting for our room to be ready and a nice surprise. Intimate (small) restaurant with good menu serving tasty fresh sushi to order. We all loved it.

“Little gem”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2014

Stopped in on the wall back to my hotel. The sign is deceiving as when you walk in, it is a tiny place.
I say at the sushi bar (four changes only) and saw great looking fish!

Ordered a sake, tuna and king salmon sashimi as they looked so fresh. I also ordered a chefs hand roll.
Great place, great fish.

“What a treasure!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 16, 2014

I am not one who typically writes reviews; however my husband and I were incredibly pleased with this little treasure in San Francisco! Our server was fantastic. She was attentive and selected our meal based upon the restaurant's most popular dishes. Each dish was superb and we would definitely come back again!

“Some of the best Sushi we have had and at an amazing price for anywhere including San Francisco”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 7, 2014

We found this place by looking on Urban Spoon, which never lets us down. It was two blocks from our hotel and a block off Powell. This is a real gem. It is small, only seats about 12, but the food was top notch and the prices were even better. We had five people in our group and the hostess was great about setting it up so we could get in. The largest table really only seats 4 and there are only two of them. We tried most of the appetizers and the marinated salmon and carpaccio were great. The spicy salmon and sumo roles were really good and the spider roles was as well. The chef and waitress were very friendly and made sure that everything was to our liking. The prices were amazing as the food. The most expensive roll was $12 and the 10 piece assortment was around 15. Small but definitely worth the wait.

First night in San fransisco from London, was recommended this place by a local!! A little tricky to find as there's no sign up!
Defiantly a must, the staff are really lovely, explained everything really well and the food was fantastic. Very relaxed evening! Akiko is a MUST!!
All round great evening.
