“Fun & tasty, nice appetizers”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 3, 2013

We ate at the bar one night for dinner while staying at Fisherman's wharf. Service was friendly, but the restaurant was packed, so a bit slow. Prices are good for the area, with a nice variety of appetizers and soups. We enjoyed our shrimp pesto pizza and spinach/artichoke dip, but were disappointed to not get complimentary bread, and our dip came with toast. Portions are very generous. Apple pie was tasty but a bit too much dough. Beignets were delicious. It was fun to explore the shop and exhibits. would return

“Good food, nice restaurant, and the best sourdough in SF”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 3, 2013

Boudin´s bakery has been around for a while, but the bistro was a new and pleasant surprise for me. The bistro is located on the second floor at this wonderful location on the wharf (about a block and a half away from Pier 39 in San Francisco). Outside, you can watch the bakers making the famous and delicious sourdough (the best). You can also see some unique figures such as a six-foot long alligator, bears, and crabs made out of sourdough. Upstairs, you will find the bistro which has an oyster bar, a full service bar, and a very pretty restaurant. We had a table with a view and I had the manila clams which were wonderful. The service was a little slow, but all in all it was a good meal and a great atmosphere. Did I mention the sourdough? Downstairs they have a store in which they sell the bread and many other gourmet items. They will actually ship the bread for you if you like. They also have some tables downstairs at their café where you can sit and eat their famous clam chowder in a bread bowl if you prefer something classic. The bistro is a little pricey, but what isn´t in SF? The location is one of the best. I am an SF native and will definitely be going back next time I´m in town.

Great food, get a breakfast over there at least one time! Well prepared and tasty, and also very creative. Nice and different place to go.

“Wonderful wonderful bread”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 1, 2013

We went for dinner in the upstairs restaurant ordered way too much - soup in a bread bowl would have been more than enough! Friendly staff, nice place for a family. Of all the places to eat in Fisherman's Wharf, I would go there again - and did go there again every morning for coffee and bread, and to pick up a couple of loaves for the planeride home! Fun to watch the bread being made in the window, and the smell.... mmmm.....

“Good not Great”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 1, 2013

There are lots of choices at Fisherman's Wharf, the last time we choose just to stand at one of the counters and eat our clam chowder. While the atmoshphere is nice at Boudin the chowder isn't as good and it's a bit pricey. Pick a counter and people watch instead.
