We stayed at Hotel Vitale for one week. The hotel is very well placed and our room had a good sea view. The staff are helpful and friendly, There were Xmas parties each might but the noise quickly abated after about 10 so that was no problem. Some quick recommendations for the tourist : Meals in the hotel are good but for special meals- breakfast boulettes in the Ferry Market, coffee at Blue Bottle in the Market and elsewhere. dinner Water and Flour, Marlowe, trip - boat to Sausalito with lunch at Le Garage., free guided walk on Golden Gate Bridge. Another recommendation (and I am generally not a bus person) quickly get to grips with the trams, cable cars it's fun.
So back to the hotel. everything out the hotel is comfortable,I was thinking of giving 4 rather than 5 stars. I thought about that and decided 4 would be mean in view of the special treatment I received in the Spa ( Thai herbal compress just wonderful ) and also the yoga lessons which the hotel puts on every morning. Few people turn up to those lessons which is a pity because the teachers are exceptional and tailor their teaching to individual needs.
So go to SF, stay at Hotel Vitale, loosen up do some Yoga, and as they say Enjoy!!!!!!
