“Don't miss this Sunday Brunch”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 29, 2013

If you enjoy a beautiful Sunday Brunch you must not miss this while in the city. One of the most elaborate brunches - they have all you would ever want and more.

“Afternoon Tea in a Spectacular Setting”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 25, 2013

We love afternoon tea and when we saw where tea is served at the Palace Hotel on Saturday afternoons we could not resist going there. The Garden Court is a very opulent room and is one of the loveliest places we have ever had tea. The service was good and the sandwiches and squares were lovely!

“Elegant beyond my imagination”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 22, 2013

Go here for the exquisite atmosphere. The glass ceiling lets in extraordinary light. The crystal chandeliers are exquisite. The marble columns, the elegant plants all lend to the wonderful atmosphere. The food is a very pleasant addition. Wonderful buffet with all the standard choices.

Return for the experience that is worth everything. You feel so good being here. And the food is better that average. Absolutely no disappointments. Can't wait to return. Wish I live here so I could go when they decorate for the holidays.

“Memorable Brunch”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 13, 2013

We attended a "morning after the wedding" brunch hosted by the mother of the groom at the Palace Hotel. The open central court in which the aptly named Garden Court restaurant sits is simply spectacular. The glass ceiling, crystal chandeliers and surrounding collonade combine for a regal setting that makes you feel happy simply to be there. Lighting was perfect, the seating comfortable and the acoustics pleasant. The food was buffet style and was uniformly of very good quality and variety. I particularly liked the poached eggs. This is a marvelous place and I can imagine it being just as nice for a romantic evening.

“Not quite what it could be”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 13, 2013

After 43 years I returned to the Garden Court for lunch with my wife. I first had Saturday lunch while in college and it was an event I never forgot. The setting is spectacular with the glass ceiling and crystal. The ambiance had not changed and the room is still amazing. The service was very attentive, but not hurried. Unfortunately, the food was somewhat disappointing. Not that it was bad, but when two salads, a glass of wine and a glass of champagne with tip exceed $100, I expect the food to be something more than "average". What was particularly disappointing was that the glass of champagne served was flat. I suspect it was something left over from the morning breakfast and they were trying to get one more $12 glass out of the bottle. When it was pointed out to the waiter, it was replaced with fresh champagne with no argument, but it was something so obvious it should never have been served.

All in all, the place is certainly worth seeing, and if you are in the mood and willing to part with the dollars, consider lunch. Otherwise, you should stop in on your way by and at least look at the room. That doesn't cost anything.
