“Great Food, Great Location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2013

This restaurant is located right on Fisherman's Wharf. It can get busy, so stop by earlier in the day and put your name in for a reservation.

The food was great. Whether you want Italian or seafood, this place delivers. It has rich, creamy sauces, and uses fresh ingredients.

You can either sit outside by the street and watch the people go by; or you can sit inside where several TVs will be showing the sport du jour.

“Disappointing”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 3, 2013

From the street this restaurant is eye catching and the out door seating area is attractive. The seating in doors is pleasant as you enter but as you walk to the back of the restaurant the checked table cloths and Italian feel quickly disappears. It is dull, grubby and less than attractive .. It is in need of a serious make over ....you feel as though you have entered another restaurant .

Dirty cutlery is a real hate of mine and food residue on the cutlery was not a good start. The glasses were cloudy and did not give the appearance of cleanliness. The menu was grubby and very well fingered and the food was so disappointing. Service was poor, lacking attention and the staff, when you saw them, were brisk. The cocktails were expensive, uninteresting and poorly presented. We had to ask for ground pepper, the Parmesan came in a small shaker and there was no evidence of freshly grated Parmesan anywhere.

As we left, walking through the restaurant the contrast between the grubby back area and the front of house was even more obvious. The staff were friendlier the atmosphere was pleasant... Such a mixed bag.... There are definitely nicer places to eat in the area.

“Good but expensive”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 3, 2013 via mobile

Recently arrived and being Italian fans, we dropped in because it was busy. Sat inside by the window and really enjoyed people watching. Good waiter, enjoyed the beers, sourdough bread was nice and chewy - different. Missus had lovely 3 cheese tortellini - nice and garlicky. Me, 4 cheese pizza - nice but not outstanding. But the price - wow!! Expensive. Wouldn't return simply for that fact, but if the price is representative of SF then you 'pays your money...'

“Busy but worth a visit”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 2, 2013

This is a very busy Italian close to pier 39. We waited a few minutes until we were shown to a table in the centre of the room close to the kitchen (someone has to be unlucky).
The food was well prepared, although it was nothing special, and the only downside was the vegetables which were virtually raw.
Service was fast but a bit indifferent, afterwards we wished we had returned to Tarantino's where we dined the previous night.

The Cioppino here is amazing!!! Sit outside alfresco and people watch if you can with a glass of good vino.
