“Typical Hotel Restaurant”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 10, 2013

The staff could have been more attentive (I had to finally get my own water after waiting 15 minutes for it) and the food is average to below average (avoid the watery clam chowder). Kitchy decor, but we expected that. Bottom line? Go for a short walk and find something non-hotel that's local.

Amazing Crab! Is a must have! You may need to share cause it`s gigantic and you`ll get dirty on it! The crab chowder is another thing you have to taste!

“Chowder was great!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 30, 2012

We tried the Blue Mermaid's most favorite Chowder on a cold November Day. It hit the spot, and coming from a person very familiar with New England Clam Chowder, that says a lot. It was a nice big, hot steaming bowl of chowder with a bit of a twist, had corn in it. Lovely. Want to go back for more along with the bread served alongside.

“Food was pretty good, but a little pricey”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 28, 2012

The service and food were reasonable. Not shockingly good by any means, but decent. The restaurant is a little pricey for what you get. But it is located in tourist area and attached to a hotel. So, one should expect that. If you know SF, though, you know there's a lot of really great restaurants in SF -- and you can find amazing food at similar or less expense if you're willing to explore a little.

“A Must”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 22, 2012

We stayed at the Argonaut Hotel and this restaurant is attached to the hotel. During our week's stay - we ate numerous meals here. The prices are very good for San Francisco. The food, selections, and service is five star. The restaurant is a must if you are anywhere near here.
