“Great Cioppino!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 21, 2009

Cute neighborhood, nice restaurant, and great food. Only a few tables and service started off pretty slow, but after that was fine. Not sure what service would be like if it was busy. If you like cioppino you must try it here. The roasted red bell pepper soup was awesome, too.

“Great atmosphere, disappointing experience”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 28, 2009

The food started out strong with the soup, salad and appetizer but were diappointed with the main dish. Although, our oppinion may have been slightly biased since we had terrible service. I'm a former waitress, and the other person in our party is a head chef- so we are definitely easy going when it comes to restaurants. But this was just sad. Our server appologized when he brought out the wrong salad(which he left on the tab), and we didn't see him again until he brought us the bill (yes, our appetizers, drinks and dinner came and went before he saw us again). We got better service at Friday's in the airport.

Other side notes - no liquor license, no condiments for our seafood platter and no lemons/wash clothes for our hands after digging into the crabs/mussels/oyesters/clams all night.

Too bad because it was a really cool spot with a really good vibe to it.

“love the food, but the staff has run amuck”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 12, 2009

i love the food at yabbies, and have been coming for years on business. the tuna poke is fabulous, the oysters very fresh, and the octopus salad devine. but recently, the service has been tough, not that the waiters aren't friendly (they are), but there seems like there is no one leading the charge and no coordination between the kitchen, seafood bar, and the waiters. we were brought the wrong oysters twice, had to order dessert three different times (kitchen didn't tell our waiter what they were out of), and couldn't "find" our waiter at multiple points during the meal. the music was way too loud it was uncomfortable (and the tracks were horrible). the best way i could describe the experience was unorganized and slow, although the food did not disppoint.

“Yabba-Dabba-DO!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2009

2 adults-2 kids shared the Thursday-nite special, a clam-bake style dinner w/lobster, crab, shrimp, muscles, clams, corn on the cob and potatoes. We all needed the walk back to our hotel. Great food, reasonable price (Actually great for the big-city). Will DO again and soon.
