I have eaten here perhaps 3 times but this is my first review. There are two dining rooms, both are fine. Some of the best food in San Francisco I have found, with excellent professional service--although once in awhile the server/maitre 'd/captain can be a bit precious--I do not care for food education at the table, myself. And S.F. restaurants can go overboard with the artisinal and sustainable descriptions. The food is top notch tho very pricey. A non drinker at our table was delighted with the non-alcoholic drinks list, and we were all pleased with the interesting desserts. Having one's valeted car ready after dinner is a nice touch, and I appreciate coat check, something sadly lacking in San Francisco restaurants. Liked the cheese course, altho' a few of the cheese descriptions were a bit long winded. I will go again next time I am intown, one must reserve far in advance. No offense to them, but the exterior of the restaurant reminds me of a leather bar--go figure, lol, oh well.
