Apparently, there is a different restaurant called Zare on Sacramento. Don't get confused. I'm writing about the 606 Folsom St location, which was a wonderful late Friday night find. The fare is billed as Mediterranean and is good a label as others. There is some middle Eastern influence too. The house cocktails are swell, and the general atmosphere warmly aged with candlelight at night. The food we had was very good to excellent. I had a market fresh corn soup that was perfect in its texture -- neither too thick nor too thin. Overall, it was very good. A little extra salt to complement the sweetness was needed IMO, but I added it myself. The regular beet & flash-fried kale salad loaded with other goodies was perfection as presented. Also, they serve a fine iteration of the ubiquitous fried Brussels sprouts on every Gastro pub/ tapas menu. I would definitely return here and recommend it to all. Our waiter also was perfection -- friendly and helpful, always professional.
