I visited Shalimar restaurant back in 2002 when I visited San Francisco for the first time. I remember the food being very good. This time I brought my wife and my 20 month old son to this restaurant. I have lived in Chicago and Houston and I have been to hundreds of Pakistani/Indian restaurants. The service was quick and we were seated in 10 minutes. Its a very small restaurant so usually every one has to wait in the evening time. I ordered Chicken Tikka and Chicken Seekh Kabob. Chicken tikka was very bland. Seekh kabob was better but spicy. My wife ordered chicken Jalfreezi and it had too much Masala and too many different spices in it. Not Good. Their naans were great, both the regular and the Garlic naan was just awesome.
Their are certainly better Pakistani places to eat in the Bay area and I was very disappointed with my return visit to this restaurant.
