“Quick, affordable and average”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 21, 2013

We ran into this place to grab a quick bite before heading to the airport. Located right across from the Hilton Union Square, his place has the perfect location to raise the bar. Yet, it was fairly empty on a rainy Saturday. The service was lackluster and we were given the choice of buffet (no thanks) or a la carte. The menu was quite long and has many vegetarian options. The food was average. The decor was old and tacky. Might be a good choice to take away.

“Good late night Indian”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 14, 2013

This place is located right across the street from the Hilton Union Square where I was staying so we decided to give it a try after a night at the local bars after having tried the many diners around before. The place is packed at night, especially after all the bars close down. We were able to get a seat and then wen't up to order our food. There are not really any servers, its kind of a self service place. You first go up to order and pay for your meal and are given a number to place on your table. There is a station where you can get jugs of water, napkins and all the utensils. The place can tend to get pretty noisy inside since it's a lot of people that just came from the bars. The washroom is a bit of a hike, through the back and down a long hallway. The food took quite a while, but surprisingly the food was actually good so it was worth the bit of a wait. Decent Indian if your looking for a late night snack

“Average with lots of potential”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 12, 2013 via mobile

Years ago it was much better, they raised the price, removed lamb and added almost a entire chicken menu. If your thing it is great, if not try somewhere else

“Self Service Heaven”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 13, 2013

The restaurant was centrally located and offered a large selection of Indian dishes at reasonable prices. Upon arrival we were not met particularly warmly, simply told to find a seat, and throughout our stay the quality of the service was either completely lacking or without any pleasantries. I quote "service without a smile." One had to order your food at the till which was no problem, but service was lacking so much that we had to help ourselves to cutlery, napkins, jugs of water at the rear of the restaurant. Our food was nice, with the exception of the Chicken Tikka Masala, which we had replaced after making a polite complaint to the workers. The restaurant was okay considering the reasonable prices, but the lack of service and quality of the food didn't deserve much praise - I am sad to say.

“Try Another Place”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2013

Food taste like it has been on the burner for hours. Not so fresh. There are other good Indian places around to choose from and walking distance.
