“Another gem”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 11, 2013

Acme is one of three-four great bread bakers in the Bay area. Getting to be a bit large in volume but still top-notch goods. Bit cheaper than others - best value of all the boutiques.

“Didn't see what the big deal was!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 1, 2013 via mobile

All the stuff we got was just ok. Sorry ! We don't understand all the hype . We got a cinnamon currant bun. A cheese wheel and just thought it was all average .

“Visited twice to enjoy the delicious sandwiches”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2013

You will know why people are waiting in line for their sandwiches. It's all about the bread- crusty- delicious-sourdough! I had a cheese and jam and my husband had the salami. When they are gone - they are gone - Don't miss them.

Grab a cup of coffee..a sandwich and a seat outside for a light, delicious treat.

On Saturdays, the Ferry Market is very busy as they have outdoor vendors selling everything from crafts to produce. You can go during the week (quieter, and you will be sure to get a sandwich) but you will miss the hustle and bustle - we went twice and had a wonderful time.

“Phenomenal breads”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2013

During our recent trip to San Francisco, we visited Acme Bread inside The Marketplace in the Ferry Building. This place looked and smelled heavenly - so many great options, how does one choose? It was so good, I went back two more times in as many days. My particular favorite morning guilt pleasure was the sourdough cheese wheel. Words don't do it justice - trust me, just go and try one. Wish we had baked goods like that here in Minneapolis.

“Like a French bakery without the French attitude”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 18, 2013

You know the bread must be good when you see a long line to buy it. We had lunch there our first day in SF - we liked the cheese sandwich. We also grabbed a loaf one morning.

So fresh.

Cash only.
